I have tried out my Japanese carts on a modded U.S. Genesis, and the games tend to stick. Not because of the size of the carts(it has a widened slot), but the actual boards are a bit thicker on the Japanese carts. So, I kind of have to tug on them a bit, to get them out.
Does anyone with a JP MD know if they stick like that, in that console, or is it the same? I'd EXPECT it to be more easy to get out, but you never know.

All I know is that they tend to be a bitch to get out of (and more importantly, in to) my Game Genie.

I don't really notice. I switched over to a MD2 but I still have my Genesis. I'll see what happens.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Just tried it out and both the US and Jpn carts were the same. I know I had to file off the tabs AND file down the area oposite of the tabs for them to fit well.

So, the games(Genesis or JP MD) still kind of stick in a JP MD? I was mildly confused by your response. Then again, I have been up WAY too long, and am getting ready to pass out.

Re: Question for anyone who has a Japanese Mega Drive
A Majesco produced 3rd-party Genesis 3 has more than ample room with it's spacious cart slot to accomodate those Japanese MD carts. You're right, it's quite a tight fit with a Genny 1 console if inserting an JPN MD cart.

I too was going to say I use the Genesis 3 model for my Mega Drives games with relatively no problems.
