Question official 360 pad revisions
I was just browsing amazon looking to pick up a wired 360 pad and saw that there are two versions for sale, is there any difference in how they handle? (my guess is that the one with the gray parts is the original 360 pad and the all black one is the same as the 360 slim wireless pad that I have)
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Xbox- ... 249&sr=1-1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wired-Gamepad-B ... 984&sr=1-2
Is there any major revions of the 360 pad apart from the upgrade to the analog stick? what about the Dpad? are older pads even worse than the current slim version?
And while im here can anyone tell me if the (Knights in the Nightmare) Yggdra Union voucher works on PAL UK PSPs? From what I gather there is no expiry date for it

The bottom one is newer, and yes the d-pad is better

This is the first I ever heard of Microsoft putting out a controller with a new d-pad, back then it was a limited edition promo item. I'm not sure if the pad they're talking about in that post is the same as the ones we have now. I never heard about them fixing the analog sticks ever (they always seemed fine)

Ah thx for the info.
About the analog stick I remember reading about it a while ago and am unable to find any info about it so best just to put it down to rumour.

I knew I wasn't crazy! There ARE two versions ... I guess the revised one isn't available just yet though.
Re: Question official 360 pad revisions
My wired 360 dpad from 2008 is almost impossible to use, while my 2011 wireless dpad (black dpad, bought with a Japanese Slim 360) is actually playable for most games.
In any case, it's all trash.

Re: Question official 360 pad revisions
Yeah the slim 360 pad isnt half bad, the d-pad is a bit mushy though as you can press it down same as an analog stick. Ild still recommend buying a dedicated pad for shmups and fighters.
Im buying a wired official 360 pad just for the sake of compatabilty for my PC gaming and to replace my PC pads which have poor build quality, with the buttons wearing out in no time.

^^^If by "not half bad" you mean down right horrible. I agree completely.

Re: Question official 360 pad revisions
Well it was over 6 months ago since he posted about in a thread, so he could have changed his setup since then
Re: Question official 360 pad revisions
Yeah, I've switched to the Horipad EX2 since a while now.
