I have an "Object Ram error" ouch..

Post by Tetsuo »

Hello all ok i boot the board up and what i see is what you see in the pictures, i either get a pinkish band along the bottom of the screen or if i reboot the board i get a message saying "OBJECT RAM ERROR?" ive googled it and i can seem to find one person asking the same question alas with no replies. Any idea anyone :(

Just bought ther board via ebay, and messaged the seller but thought best to get it to as many people/forums as possible to see if it can be fixed.

sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Well, it would help for starters if you told us what game it is. In nay case, it sounds like some sort of hardware failure. You should also probably keep the board on top of something that doesn't conduct electricity, as that could have very well shorted something. Bubble wrap and anti-static bags are apparently things on which you don't want to rest boards, from what I've heard.

If it's not a hardware failure it could just be some loose chips, though I've never heard about that causing a RAM error.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Update for some reason it's now showing an image but still have corruption at bottom of screen, the game is Outzone. useing a vog mk v sg with 300w psu

got this reply back from the seller

"Hi George. Can you try the board in one of those cabs pictured in the photo you sent me? I suspect the board might be incompatible with the supergun. It may require -5V which I think will be missing from the supergun because it looks like you're using a PC power supply"
