It looks nice, although I'l guarantee that it will cost a fortune. I like that you can easily open it up.

No you don't.

Nobody knows, probably because it isn't out. Judging by Razer's reputation this won't be accurately priced, and seems almost like they're attempting to buy into a market which have already been bought by Madcatz. They've also been promoting this at TGS, but even for the Japanese market, there's Hori.

In short, this is just Razer getting under-foot once more, already shown by their attempts at "gaming" mechanical keyboards and "gaming" headsets.

top secret elite pro-gamer validation program
Yeah, it's a scam.

I guess these are for the chubby dudes who quaff Mana Energy Drinks at Starcraft LAN parties and own Alienware PCs (which are a complete racket, mind you)? The people who obsessively tweak graphics settings in Crysis generally aren't the sort to bother with fighters and shmups.

I don't know how it would be considered a scam at this point. Its probably not going to be competitively prices, but I doubt they are going to use knock off sanwa parts or anything. Overhyped maybe?

The beta test thing is cool I guess. I applied and talked about my EXTENSIVE STICK KNOWLEDGE but they probably will just send them out to well known fg players and stuff.

As long as a stick is mounted at the proper height and the button layout is comfortable, everyone is basically using a JLF with Sanwa buttons or an LS-32 with Semitsus, which is 100% preference. I don't understand paying a premium unless you have to have a particular case. The parts are what matter, not the box they're mounted in.

Actually, the box matters a great deal. Different boxes provide varying balances of portability and comfort owing to their size, shape, and weight.

I applied to the program pretty much day one and haven't heard from them. I think that's some serious bullshit, considering I've spent hours working on my stick and it's only ever had one recurring problem that pops up randomly. I even wrote several nice paragraphs!

Still probably going to be overpriced. It's Razer, so what else can you expect? Buy their shit when the newest model comes out and the old hits clearance price, or buy in refurbished on Woot. I got my keyboard on the former for $21, and my roommate got a headset for about half price on the latter.
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.
