I don't remember seeing anything weird with my monitor on my Egret II, and now I noticed that the bottom right of the screen looks like it's a different color. I've had this happen before on my astro city & aero city and I was able to hit a big red button inside to fix it. On my Egret I can't find anything to do this. I'll admit i messed with a lot of the monitor adjustments earlier today trying to find a good setting for my xbox360 on it, but I can't seem to get this to go away. It's also slightly warped the screen in that area. I've tried powering the cab off and on a few times and it doesn't go away. Any suggestions?
Ah your cabinet is stuffed, you should give it away...to someone in New Zealand **wink, wink**
Just joking! You need to degauss it with a degaussing wand. Can be had cheap too..doesnt really matter which one you get and you can go from the inside out or outside in doing circular motion.
For the warping, could be a number of problems...but if you dont notice it too much on gameplay, I suggest you leave it. Especially if it does not affect the gameplaying field.
Thanks for the tip rugdoctor!! I got the warping fixed with messing with the monitor controls, but I'll have to grab a degaussing coil I guess. I turned my egret vertical today so maybe something got weird when I did that? Glad to know it's easy to fix.
Glad you got the warping sorted...but as you just turned your monitor and it happened as soon as you did that will confirm indeed its a degausing issue. Get the degausing coil/rod and get that fixed asap. Personally, I dont think any consoles inside any cabinets will cause an issue but ventilation is important so unless the cab is hollowed out and plenty of room for the console to breathe, I recommend hooking up a scart cable extended (no longer than 3 meters I think is best) and hook the console to that before the adapter.

Just turned on the cab again and it seems it has fixed itself. COOL!!
I read somewhere that the Egret II has an auto degauss on power up... any truth to that?
yeah, if you powered it down and back up and it went away that proves that the auto degauss is working. If you have any trouble spots you can fix it with a magnet. For my cab I lift up the bezel to expose the monitor frame. I have a pretty strong magnet (about 1" diameter disc) that put on outer edge of the tube (to the metal, not the glass) and move it around. Once you get a feel for how the magnet affects the colors you can use this to fine tune any trouble spots which may be around the edges.

I've rotated mine countless times over the years and never had to think about deguassing, so I suppose that's a yes.
