I haven't tried it yet although i am about to but I heard it was a new ship and a new difficulty setting. 400msp isn't going to get you much and is usually the going rate for a new character add on in just about every game.

I hope there is a new difficulty setting, would be neat to see the bullet canceling being absolutely necessary for survival and it not always being easy to attain. I just hope the new difficulty setting does not only cater to the new ship, would like to see the new ship of the same strength as the others

Here's what it is - Version B: a remix of the game with new (faster) bullet patterns, different enemy formations, (possibly) easier access to the loop. The stage colour pallets are adjusted, as is your shot colour.
There are now some quite tricky, trippy patterns that easily eclipse those in the vanilla one, with some really quick bullet attacks, esp. in the second loop. It would also appear that the bosses go down a lot quickerthan before, I was using the new ship and I thought it was that, but going back to the original roster it appeared to be the same way, so good. But to make up for it, the bosses now have some real quick attacks that will surprise players of the game :)

There are score attack versions of each stage and you can play 2nd loop variants of all of them off the bat.

This is an improvement on the vanilla release

Unfortunately there is still no adjustable difficulty. Still, from early impressions the game is harder.
But a word of warning, use the new chick and prepare to blow thru the game like nothing else, it's easier than before using her. She builds multiplier slower, but her shot power is off the chart, with the same speed as the police chick!!!

Bottom line: if you want a slightly more difficult version of Bullet Soul, then steer clear of the new character and you should be fine.

Let me know if they put out a patch to let you stop every bullet from getting canceled before it can reach you.

I'm a little confused, so once you download the second dlc you can only play using the version B format or can you choose pre dlc difficulty and post dlc difficulty at will?

Can you use the new character in the vanilla bullet soul version? sounds like it'd be way too easy but im just curious

Version B is it's own game, the new character only appears in this and the Version B score attack mode.
So after getting both DLCs you have access to the Vanilla version of the main game, Vanilla Score Attack, Caravan Mode, Version B main and Version B Score Attack.

Just finished a couple of runs with the regular characters, and in the end it is trickier, but really not by much, even point blanking everything to a dangerous level I still made it halfway thru the last stage.
There also appears to be more score based extends going on.

Thing is, it all balances it well for me cos I play aggressive and point blank as close as poss, (I'm in the top 150 with red guy I think) yet it seems the dudes higher up the table are doing some real crazy shit to score that well.

I'm not even sure it's just the point blanking that raises the multiplier anymore, either.
It almost appears that in conjunction with the chaining thing (when you destroy medium enemies in succession) is what sends the multiplier rising crazy fast - I gotta watch more replays i guess :)

Loop access in Version B is much easier, medal requirements have been relaxed substantially:

Silver: 2 or fewer deaths
Gold: 2 or fewer deaths + required number of bonuses for the stage
Platinum: 1 or fewer deaths + required number of bonuses for the stage

No more no-miss requirement, and don't forget that no more multiplier requirement means you can easily get Platinum medals on every stage with autobomb.

Just to be clear, you need a Japanese points card to purchase these DLCs, right?

Also, does it add Score Attack for version A and version B? I don't recall Score Attacks for each level being in the original game, just training. Or is that not what you're talking about here?

You missed it, then. Score Attack (番長) mode is part of the original package.

These DLC updates are pushing me towards finally buying this game. I can buy the DLC on my US console by logging in with a Japanese user account? Just like the special mode on Muchi Muchi Pork?

Yes, if you have MS Points on your Japanese account.

Yes, it's an advertised feature of the DLC, sadly.

Hey guys something weird happened today, I was prompted to download another update even though I already had last wednesday when DLC 2 came out. After that I went to play and noticed EVERY ship except the gold one has NO textures just black silhouettes and the outline for the ships, even the new girl. I already tried deleting the update and the game install data then tried playing it again and the same problem happens in every game mode with only the gold ship that has textures, even enemy ships dont have them.

So has anyone had this or knows a remedy to fix it, is 5pb aware of this bug? I would post pics but my laptops HDD crapped out on me and will be a few days before its fixed, if anyone wants I can text them a pictue message, just PM me with Bullet Soul in the title header and post your phone# in the message, box.

I managed to fix it buy turning my system off the back on, that was strange cause why wouldn't going to the dashboard fix it, heck I even started up ESPGALUDA II to see if my 360 was messed up, then went back to the dashboard and re-booted Bullet Soul and that didn't fix it? Does the 360 keep some kind of temporary cache data from the games themselves?

Yes. Go into the data management, highlight the storage device in question and choose "Clear System cache"

Thanks. By the way does anyone recommend messing with the stick sensitivity options, will it help if you have sticks with a longer throw like my madcatz TE SSF4 stick? What are some user favorite settings if you guys have any?

Arcade sticks are digital, sensitivity should have absolutely no effect. Sensitivity only applies to analog input (e.g. the thumbsticks on a standard controller).

Should have this game next week via rancor along with Ketsui and maybe a few doujins. Can't wait. I loved the demo.

Well the option is listed as "Stick Response" so I figured it was for arcade sticks, it doesn't say "Analog Response" so thats why I assumed it was for an arcade stick.

I think turning it up makes microtapping more difficult. There's another 360 shooter that offers this option, but I forget which one.

I crank it up when using my original 360 pad. The sticks are loose and cause unintended traveling in many shooters.

When using arcade sticks it makes no difference as it just increases the analogue dead zone. The throw on joysticks isn't even detected by the game, as no input has been made.

...unless you've wired up something like the Happ or Suzo analogue sticks.

I know this topic hasn't seen much activity as of late, but it seems now that Bullet Soul has been given the On Demand treatment as of 12/13/11 at the cost of 3990 Yen (Around more or less US $50) or 2720MSP on the JP Marketplace.

Even though its Region Free, don't expect to buy it because of IP and Region stuff. Unless otherwise stated/noted.

For anyone interested, the GoD release on the Asian Marketplace is not IP locked meaning you can buy it from any country on any region console using an Asian gamertag. You can buy it with Microsoft points or paypal (if you have a paypal account linked to the gamertag). I bought it today and it worked out at approx. £13.

Thanks for noticing bcass, but which marketplace specifically? you said Asia, but which one, lol, anyways, I just bought the retail one at a really great price from Korzca considering he really doesn't want it anymore, and will be treated to a nice new home, includes everything and will have it soon as it gets delivered.

I tried to make a hong kong account earlier and suceeded, however afterwords I couldn't connect to xbox live. It just out right refused on all accounts until I turned my local back to USA.

Im using a Japanese system. I don't know if it makes a difference but buying it as games on demand with a Hong Kong account doesn't seem possible.
