SNES X Band- S Famicom Adapter?

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I've read that this modem/relic can be used as an adapter for Super Famicom games, and works better than a Game Genie. Anybody know about this?

you just want to play SFC games on your SNES without modding the case, yes ?

Just use a classic region converter like this: (the bottom device)

there is no electronic involved. It's just a port replicator with two ports on top. All the pins to the ROM/SRAM are routed to the front port, while the pins for the region chip are routed to the back port.

They basically isn't anything on them that could fail or cause problems. Especially on the combination JP/US *every* game will work.

What's it called? Is it the "Super Adapter"?

Many names from many different manufacturers. And they are all the same.

Thanks, Fudoh. You're always helpful.

Why don't I remove the tabs?....I just don't want to. I might at some point, I guess.

I did it recently. If you're not fussy about being neat, you can do it without taking the SNES apart, you just need a good pair of needle nose pliers. If you like things neat and done right, you do have to take the SNES apart, and you might involve a dremel to make the sanding easier (if you've got one, USE IT. I did and it made my life better.)

Took me an hour to finish rebuilding my SNES and I had to swap a new motherboard into my not as yellowed case.
