If you're a guy, your body is designed to have a hormone balance that is harmful for a woman's body chemistry. The same goes for the other way around. If you're messing around with hormones for whatever reasons, the health risks far outweigh any entertainment value. I've dealt with low testosterone levels for several years now, most likely just due to a high bodyfat content and plenty of stress. If you continue messing around with estrogen, you will be damaging your body and your testosterone production. There have been times when I've had very low testosterone levels, and it makes you irritable, cranky, and depressed. However, those same low T levels are too high for a woman's body. So, what's good for a man is not good for a woman, and vice versa. I don't care if you enjoy dressing like female anime characters or whatever. That's a separate issue. But if you're trying to fool your body into being something you aren't, you will be causing a hormonal imbalance and working yourself into an early grave. Men with very low testosterone levels don't live as long as those with normal levels.
I won't detract from this thread any further. Please don't think I'm being a jerk. I wouldn't say any of this if I didn't care about you, so please don't misinterpret my intentions.
You make it sound like men and women are completely different species. The human body is designed to function with both types of hormones (in fact, all men start out as women early in development). So long as the human body has a normal amount of either type, it can function normally. That's something completely different than having low/high levels of both, or a serious imbalance. And you do know that soy estrogens aren't quite the same as human ones, and offer some benefits as well, right? And I'll have you know my mood has improved considerably since I started taking estrogen. I felt depressed/stressed out far more often when I had normal testosterone levels.
But don't get me wrong, I appreciate your concern. However, if you were truly concerned about me, you'd have put more effort into educating yourself about my situation. Though it shouldn't matter to me much either way, since I'm taking estrogen with a prescription, under the supervision of a physician, an endocrinologist, and a therapist, so your concern (no matter how misguided) isn't really necessary.
Sorry if I come off as a bit harsh, but I normally wouldn't have replied to someone who thinks I'm doing this for "entertainment". I wouldn't have gone out of my way to try and educate you if I didn't care about you, so please don't misinterpret my intentions.
