TATEing Touhou

So a quick cursory look for TATEing Touhou yielded this:

A utility to tate TH 10, 11 & 12. When I do it though, it merely rotates the field, maintaining the 4:3 ratio with giant borders on the top and bottom. The screenshots look like they completely revamped the playing field to play 3:4. Anyone have any luck with this?

Works fine for me in ufo.

Ah apparently it's incompatible with the English patch. Works fine on the regular binary. Time for some extra pretty shmuppin!

It works with the English patch if you rename the executable first. th10e.exe becomes th10.exe, etc.

I came from another forum which was practically obsessed with Touhou, it makes me curious about playing them. So where/how can I actually find these games?

Buy them (tokyo shmups sells a few of them) or as the majority of people do, pirate them.

It's been awhile since I've DLed one, but I'm sure a Google search would do the trick, since the games are pretty well known. If memory serves ZUN's site has them.

You can get them from the source or just Google for [game name] + demo for western blogs that mirror them as rapidshares and torrents.
