Mesopotamia looks pretty cool! (But now I have that B-52s song in my head...)

I do prefer the sprites in the domestic Magical Chase. When I made a Perler beadsprite, I chose the domestic version.

Last night when I came home, I had Mamono Hunter Yohko waiting for me in the mailbox. Basted and the third Ranma 1/2 game will be coming from England sometime soon. I shouldn't have bought these from the UK. hit-japan has much better shipping costs.

Good call on City Hunter. That seems to be a popular game. Reminds me a little of Rolling Thunder, except it's faster paced.

You could add Gradius 2 (and the other Konami shmups like Grad 1, Salamander, Parodius and Twinbee), and Lemmings to the pile as well as Road Spirits and R-Type Complete (R-type on CD). And then there's Cotton, too, and Aeroblasters. I think all of those stayed in Japan, right?

Good effort, but the video misses the mark for not including Terra Cresta II and Nexzr even though Obiwanshinobi and drcharlie mentioned them in this thread.Terra Cresta II is a hu-card, so you could have emulated it, and Nexzr is a CD game that every self-respecting PC Engine fan should have in their collection (the Summer Carnival edition of Nexzr isn't that expensive; it lacks the anime intro of the regular edition but instead you get a caravan game mode). Time for v2.0 of your video :-D

PS.
Maybe the PCE-exclusive Image Fight II should have been used instead of Image Fight I?

Oh yeah, I can't recommend Nexzr enough. I think it's one of the best survival shmups on any system.

I had to include that. Plus a goofy sexy cutscene from Steam Hearts.

Well, I can't please everyone. 84 of these games came from my collection, ncc1701p's, Specineff's, and Undamned's collections. I threw in some clips of HuCard games emulated on my Xbox for good measure.
Image Fight was included because it belonged to my friend's collection. Nexzr is a CD game which I do not own. As for Terra Cresta, sorry, I overlooked that one. Preference was given to games we had on-hand, but as for others, I was trying not to add too many shmups to make the video a bit more balanced. Plus, if I ever do get around to doing a part 2 video, I'll want to have shmups in that video. No sense using them all up in the first video.

Do yourself a favor and buy Nexzr asap. Great game. I'm surprised how unknown it seems to be- definitely one of the best games on PCE.

The trouble is that it's getting more and more expensive. It's actually the game that got me into the PCE though. I played it at a friend's house, and was disappointed to learn that it was a $100 game at the time. But, Wolfgames got it in for $60, I snagged it, and bought a Duo-R later :)

I can't really say if it's worth a hundred bucks, but it really is an amazing game. I'd put it in the top 5 best 16-bit shmups of all time (or maybe even a top 3).

Well, if/when I ever get around to making a second 100 PC Engine games in 10 minutes video, I'll be sure to include it. Right now, I'm still working on a third 100 SFC games in 10 minutes video. But I also have my sights set on a 100 Japanese Saturn games in 10 minutes video.

You'll enjoy it, no doubt.
