On my way to being able to consistently no-bomb the eyeball section of Stage 5. Damn books always get me, but if I can actually pull this off in a run, I could be able to survive Stage 6 and 7.

Gunbird 2 (PS2) on my recently TATEd 80cm Panasonic CRT thru component. The display itself was rather reluctant to play ball, but one cheap degaussing wand later and I'm playing Gunbird 2 in glorious 240p with scanlines, baby!

Hooked up the J360 as well, and was surprised to see all the shooters looking so good considering all the whinging related to screen sizing and what not.

Think I melted the wand though.

More Raiden Fighters Jet. Man, Yagawa's got nothing on this game when it comes to dynamic rank. Didn't stop me making it to Real Battle Phase 2 though. :D

We have an Aero Fighters 2 in one of the MVS cabs at Pinball Pete's, I've been meaning to give it a try. You can play 2P side single player, right? The joystick on the 1P is actually BENT. I hate people.

Woohoo! Just popped a savestate open and instantly perfected Stage 1-5 at full rank! Boss has one pattern that I have to bomb (I've seen SYO handle it but his method makes no sense to me) but other than that I think I could no-miss no-bomb to Stage 6 pretty easily. Then it's just bomb distribution.

Alpha Mission II (MVS).

Hmmm, mildly bored thus far. Hoping there is something in this game to grab on to - or it hits the display shelf very soon.

I haven't seen any MVS game let you use the 2p side in a 1 player game. Bit of a shame really.

Finally cleared Galuda with Tateha, took a while to get used to her speed but her rapid shot is useful against those clones. Back to Arrange mode for me.

Played a credit of Batsugun special, had been a while. No missed the first loop and made it to the end of stage 8 which is usually my wall.

Muchi Muchi Pork seems to have my attention at the moment. Tossed a credit in it to show a friend the game before I let him play and ended up doing far better than expected, hoping I can get the 1-all.

Been trying a lot of, but not exclusively, doujin shmups but not really putting enough time into one to become proficient enough as of yet.

Air Rade ~Air~
Alltynex Second
Diadra Empty
Muchi Muchi Pork
Psyvariar 2
Zillion Beatz

Diadra Empty, Alltynex Second, and MMP have me hooked.

DOJ Black Label, got to Stage 3, and found my self dying very shortly after because I just bombed through the Stage 2 boss [haven't played in ages, and decided that it would be a good idea to just make sure I got to level 3 no matter what].

Well I was playing Gradius III. But since I beat that on Normal and Arcade mode, not much else left to play. Other then that I haven't played anything else new.

Played a bit of Crimzon Clover (Got up to Stage 3 on Original Mode) and a lot of Erst Kerf (STG and Bullet Hell meets Dungeon Crawling! Also, does that game count as a Shmup?).

I managed to One Credit Clear Normal Mode on the latter, though. I used the double shot, the knife, and the spread shot the most. It's too bad that I only have a few weapons unlocked.

Rank control in Battle Garegga: enormously important.

Rank control in Psikyo: a very bad idea. Suiciding on the Stage 5 midboss of Dragon Blaze does not make Stage 6 suck less, oddly. :(

I rank control in Garegga, but I don't suicide, I just die and call it rank control. Damn I love that game though. Unlocked those superplays the pussy way, and those guys are fuckin pro. Made me look at the game in a new way.

Damn, I don't know what to play

Oh shit, didn't know you were on here ZenErik.

I have been putting off Akai Katana, as I couldn't really get into Deathsmiles. Need to give it a try

Been at Ketsui arcade mode (360 port) for a week or so, slowly improving, getting to stage-5 most of the time but I'm not going to do crazy training on that bitch of a final stage until I can consistently no-miss the first 4 stages. That's my usual stategy to clear Cave games, just bomb spam like a mad on the last stage. Not looking to see 2nd loop any time soon.

My brother is in town visiting so I'll probably show him some highlights from my Galuda2 and Akai Katana All-clear replays.
He's also excited to see Child of Eden.

Found a used Fire Shark for Genesis. That cartridge looks like a bootleg :P

Also playing Radiant Silvergun from XBLA.....wow, this game's a lot harder than Ikaruga. I like the music in this game less, though....
