Yeah, I did, a bad one.

I got help. Therapists, councelling, went to AA meetings, everything. I wanted to be able to control my drinking, and not need to rely on drinking heavily every night to cope with life. I managed to do that, and I got it under control.

This will be the first time I've had some beers in close to a month. It is now something I can do, enjoy, and stop. It doesn't control my life anymore like it used to.

Some people stop for good, I'm aware. I wanted to be able to control myself, which was a struggle, but I got there.

Matter of fact I only had 3 or 4 beers last night, it's just not really for me anymore, which I'm not unhappy with.

Can an alcoholic just stop like that? I doubt any proper hardcore one can. Anyone can call themselves an alcoholic if they are drinking more than 3 times a week. I've seen first hand about 4 people die due to alcohol, they certainly couldn't stop.

Still working on my Pliny clone. Fucked up on the carbonation, but its all good. Sometimes with making beer I've learned that if it is drinkable, best not to screw with it more.

I can tell you this with 110% certainty, there isn't an AA group or therapist in the world that will get your drinking "under control".

They are there to make you stop.

The above story is why I don't believe you.
