No pics. But if you're in the violent city, you cannot miss the store. It is next to that big ol' castle that is inhabited by a pack of flamingos.I want to visit this grocery store. Deliver pics please.

Some of these might've been referenced already, but Siliconera's posted a short compendium of Cave's recent Facebook posts regarding their future plans.

THE PROBLEM WITH CAVE IN 2011 (and dying game genres in general)
Nowadays, this

makes exponentially more money than this.

Even when they're on the same platform!
And while stuff like this

is being dumped on the PC for free, no one gives a shit.

Re: The future of Cave
What's that top one? I'd assume it's an XBLA game, since you say they're the same platform, but I haven't seen it before, and I usually pay attention to every game they put out. Looks more like an XBLIG game though, but those never make any moneyEstebang wrote:THE PROBLEM WITH CAVE IN 2011 (and dying game genres in general)

It's Doodle Jump, a popular iOS game.Sumez wrote:What's that top one? These facts make me want to put a gun to my head and eat a bullet. Seriously.GaijinPunch wrote:iFart made like a billion dollars. That's proof enough for me.
I've known this since high school. I would spend dozens of hours crafting these awesome little rpgs on the TI-82 (ASCii art hobos! Fire-breathing noodle monsters!~~!~!), but the only game that appealed to the unwashed masses of non-nerds?
Guess the NuMbEr.
It takes me less than 10 minutes to write Guess the Number in TI-Basic. I could splat out the source from scratch into this text box, and it would not fill up your screen.
But fucking fart noises is beyond the pale. People suck.
PSX Vita: Slightly more popular than Color TV-Game system. Almost as successful as the Wii U.

Braid-discussion can now be found here, this thread is back to Cave-y things.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

I'm not for or against any console in particular but I do rather think CAVE should develop for other systems (iDevices don't count >.<). It's puzzling that they should choose the 360 for most of their releases since the 360 is a dying console in Japan when compared to the US.

shmups always land on the dead/second place console. It's a weird tradition. MD, PC Engine, Saturn, Dreamcast, 360. It doesn't make a lick of sense but there you areKNekoSpy wrote:I'm not for or against any console in particular but I do rather think CAVE should develop for other systems (iDevices don't count >.<). Re: The future of Cave
Well if you consider NEC/TTI with their TG-16/Turbo Duo hardware platform was trailing behind SNES and the Genny stateside for third place contention in the 16-bit console wars of the early 1990s. The 64-bit powered Atari Jaguar was in fourth place since it's late 1993 debut only to crash & burn big time when Atari Corp was finally sold to the JTS hard-drive manufacturer for mere pennies on the dollar. The heavily rumored Atari 16-bit powered Panther console (with it's built-in ability to play those cool Atari Lynx games without the need for an adapter) was nothing more than just specs on paper/vaporware when Atari suddenly canned it at the last minute in 1992 to concentrate on the newer Jag platform instead.
