My PC is freezing when I watch videos (mainly in MKV, youtube is OK, other sites do it freeze), play any games ( Mainly KOF XIII, MaMe seems OK) or if it want freeze. After any freezes my PC don't boot and I need wait a time before turn it on again. This problem persists even after I formatted my PC.
What can I do?
PC freezing
Re: PC freezing
Is some part inside your PC getting too hot? Like the power supply, video card, or CPU?
Re: PC freezing
yeah the time thing sounds like heat. If it wasn't for the time issue I'd suggest a memory problem.
IMHO the rank of main suspects will be:
1. Video card (does a heavy 3d+shader app/game also crash your computer? Quite a likely suspect. Try with just onboard video if possible or an old card to see if different?)
2. See if you can monitor your cpu heat (unlikely, but can cause freezes)
3. Memory (try memtest86+ or microsoft tester to test your memory.)
4. Motherboard (physical fault - difficult to test other than to try replacing it)
5. Power supply (I would have thought your pc would restart if it was power based)
