Oh god don't remind me of that repulsive game. After having that game I lost hope with Konami releasing any good Bemani game overseas, especially beatmania IIDX series.

...Seeing that I'll be picking up a e74 xbox 360 tomorrow, I might give them another chance. They better not disappoint me.

I am now burning with the rage of a thousand small suns. I mean, really small. Still, there are a thousand of them.

It's like Digital Devil Saga all over again!
Why is it called the Vic Viper/Warp Rattler? Because the Options trail behind it in a serpent-like fashion, and the iconic front fins are designed to invoke the image of a snake's fangs.

Well at least it's the 20th this time, Last time I checked it was 27th. But still hope they won't delay it much further. I think there's still no official words from Konami about the delays.

The official Otomedius Excellent facebook fan page is not even answering questions regarding the delays, they would just post non sense posts like character spotlight, snapshots from Otomedius GORGEOUS, Japanese screen shots saying it's the English version and silly stuffs like "Like this if you want the 3 player feature featured only on Otomedius Excellent"

And since this is my first post..
Hey there, I'm Anch and I love to play Touhou, Otomedius, and Gradius games, I can say that Otomedius Excellent is my game forte, I also play Drummania and real drums, And that's about it i guess.
Pleasure to meet you all here. :D

Did everyone just stop caring about this? This is the info that's come to light since the last post:

A Konami rep at E3 had unofficially revealed that the delays are due to Microsoft rejecting approval for the game, although the localization work is complete. This is likely due to their new US regulation that all retail 360 games have minimum print runs of 50,000 copies. There's no way Konami planned on making that many.

The latest facebook post for the game states that it has not been canceled or forgotten. Although they are not able to give any more information regarding its release status, they will do so when they can.

No, I'm pissed about the delays. I don't care if the elite says this is the shittiest SHMUP ever made, I want it. Sept 20th better be the final release date.

Does this suggest that another delay is in the cards? The 9-20 date's been holding steady of late...

As for the "minimum print run" thing, if this is true, someone more familiar with the industry's workings will have to explain that sort of mindset to me...why wouldn't any system maker prefer selling a few thousand copies of a small print run over zero copies, period?

I would guess that Microsoft is trying to contain niche and low-profile games to the XBLA ghetto, while giving the Halos and Gears free reign of the retail market.

I hope Excellent US doesn't end up with some censorship--the English announcement trailer had strategic stars over everyone's boobies.

That's actually been in place for years.

I don't want to believe Microsoft is forcing Konami to release this only on XBLA, but it's plausible if the 50,000 copies production requirement is true.

They should copy RSG/ Cave and make it region free / dual region so us PAL guys can import the game and push up sales closer to 50K

If it does go to XBLA / GOD I sure hope they make it available worldwide

That was before the ESRB rating came in. after it was rated they released the Japanese Gameplay trailer with subtitles completely uncensored.

Considering that Konami's apparently already got artbooks and other stuff printed up for a physical release I doubt they'll go along very easily if that's what MS is in fact trying to do.

They most likely don't have anything manufactured yet; they can't begin until the game passes approval.

Worst case, it'll end up a GoD-only release. That's what's happened to RE4 and Code Veronica HD, of all games!

It'll be released. Release date hasn't changed and we are nearing September 20, So let's all chill and relax. Konami hasn't said anything regarding this matter anyways.

Still no Kokoro DLC.....

Only in America, did this happen, since Japan is getting a physical release of it, and it releases next Thursday.

I'm starting to doubt this whole Otomedius thing, but I wouldn't care either way, even if it was cancelled or forced onto Games on Demand, I'd just finally break down and get the import instead.

I want to pre-order, but no one can confirm whether it is region free or locked. Guess I will have to wait until it is released. I will gladly spend $30 - 50 on the US release if it is region free. I am a little more hesitant to import the Japanese release of a game that I am admittedly not THAT interested in but would like to play.

Just a guess, but I very much doubt it will be...off the cuff, has ANY US shmup release so far been regionless?

Hahah. Well, not 360, but pretty much all handhelds are region-free, except for the stupid DSi and 3DS. PSP and the DS Lite were a godsend for my traveling shoot-'em-up needs 8)

I played quite a bit of the $10 copy of Wartech I got from Gamestop on my Japanese 360. What message did it give you?
