Hi everyone,
I have a MadCatz Street Fighter IV Fightpad which is hacked into my New Net City cab's panel. I've been able to plug in to USB plug from the fightpad into the computer, but I'm running into the problem where the fightpad is only recognized as a hat switch.
2nd important part: On Crimzon Clover I've been able to remap the "hat switch" directions to keys through joy2key, however when I press any of the buttons (even when keymapped) I am able to shoot, but it stops whatever direction movement of the ship almost like the button press takes priority and the keymap joystick program shuts off or is interrupted.
Once I get this working reliably I'm really into playing Crimzon Clover/Touhou, etc. on my cabs.
Thanks for any advice,
-the F-man

For Crimzon Clover, I had to run my XPadder script (or plug in my stick, I don't remember) AFTER the game has initialized, or I would get the same issue. Try setting up your frontend to load the script with a delay after Crimzon Clover has loaded. If the game initializes and recognizes a joystick is connected, you'll get some weird conflict.Frenetic wrote:Hi everyone,

Re: Infamous Hat Switch problem and Doujin games
I use the XBCD drivers for my stick and remapped the hat switch (d-pad) to the left stick:

Re: Infamous Hat Switch problem and Doujin games
Fightpads have a switch on the back (should still be on your pcb) to switch between ls/dpad/rs
switch and plug it back in
switch and plug it back in
Re: Infamous Hat Switch problem and Doujin games
Oh you need to take the pad out and plug it back in to make that switch work? That explains why it never did anything for me >_>

Thanks for this emphatic. What I ended up doing was running XPadder, then assigning keys. I then unplugged the Fightpad controller's USB plug from my laptop, then loaded up Crimzon Clover. I then plugged my Fightpad controller in. Works like a charm without the joystick directions being interrupted by button presses.emphatic wrote:For Crimzon Clover, I had to run my XPadder script (or plug in my stick, I don't remember) AFTER the game has initialized, or I would get the same issue. I also played some Touhou: Subterranean Animism...I think I'm gonna get RefRain one of these days. But until then it is a Doujin Time in the New Net City tonight (and many more nights to come!)
Cheers,
