Well it absolutely hates me, so I figure it deserves a bit of time in solitary.

Distributors did not send their PCBs into Cave with the original box, they sent the PCB alone to get fixed. The newer AMI box did not exist until well after Ibara came out (at second printing). So anyone who received a mushi "kit" from vendor after that point might have gotten in the newer box. Essentially vendors were frankenkitting as well as the collectors.

Cool, well I've done a box swap rectification, so I'm sorted.

However, Ibara got a second printing? That's interesting, I didn't know that.
So first print = old style, new print = new style.

How does the Vanilla Doj PCB with metal case fits in the old style CAVE box , with the standard innards that's impossible so does it have a different inside ?

I did but it's tight and it rests on the connector .
Is that really how they did send it ?

A fools edit :

You put the game in the box and turn both Innards upside down on the metal Case Image

Thanks

Er, I don't think you do it like that. Should just fit normally with the inners the normal way up.

Right ,
I just tried again and the case does fit upside down complete with the jamma connector between the 2 innards but it's a tight fit .

I don't know this for sure, just based on the fact that at some point they printed way too many and the box changed after initial release of the kit. I guess it could also be one very long printing and they ran out of the old boxes somewhere along the line. Logically I would think the former.

I would too. Remember how fast the price dropped? Fastest in the county!

Icarus remembers only too well, poor chap.

He did say he got his £1000+ loss out of it in gaming terms though, which I'm inclined to believe if you've ever seen him play it.

I don't see normal DeathSmiles on your reprint list.

Also, if you are going to show AKLE 360 then you might as well show AK LE Home PCB and Mushi 1.5 Matsuri Ver. in the non-reprint and also the non-reprint poster sections.

I was a proud owner of the 2nd fastest dropping kit -- ESPGaluda II, and kept it just until a few weeks ago!

I missed some history bits, can you help me out for my knowledge... From what I have gathered, Ibara got a second run of the pcbs made and that combined with how atypical it was to other Cave games is blamed for its quick price drop? And Galuda II, what was generally blamed for its quick price drop? Overproduction?

Ibara was a failure in the arcades = price drop. It went from it's set price of 240,000 yen to 180,000 yen almost immediately, and soon after was somewhere around 120,000 yen for a new kit (literally just weeks). There's no confirmation of a repressing, but there were NOS kits available well after the storm blew for as little as 20,000 yen. They sold out quite quickly though, and demand a higher price now.

Galuda II was a success in the arcades, but apparently they just printed too many. It went down to 180,000 yen relatively quickly (probably 2-3 weeks) and I think the cheapest we saw NOS kits was 60,000 yen. I'm rusty at this point (mainly b/c I had one) but they probably hovered around 100,000 for quite some time. Note that the yen was way more average at this time (110 probably) which meant higher probability of overseas purchases.

I don't recall if the normal DS arcade poster was reprinted. I remember some time after the unedited version came out I sold the AC poster as "the rarer, non-matsuri version". Pretty sure they didn't bother.

I should have been more clear. With DS I was just referring to the kit art. I try to avoid posters that would cause my kids to ask questions.

I'm 100% sure the normal DS AC poster was never reprinted, I looked out at Matsuri's for that one and only the bloody birdcage variant ever showed.

I think brentsg is talking about the Deathsmiles artset. I didn't have it on the reprint list as I didn't think it had been reprinted, but it's difficult to remember all of them now.

Has Ibara Black Label been reprinted as far as the art ser goes?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Yeah, but you were 100% sure of some other stuff that was reprinted that wasn't. ;)

Yes, I do, too. Especially after he said, "I was referring to the kit art."

I should probably clarify. I was referring to the art that comes with the kit.

To clarify a bit more, these are essentially pieces of paper that come in the kit. They have ink on them, mostly color, but one piece just black and white.

Edit: There is a sticker in there too.
