I bought a Sunset Riders PCB some time ago, and I can't get it to boot properly.
The guy selling it on eBay promised on the auction site that it would be working, but that it requires a "specific 5V setup", so he wouldn't take responsibilities if someone can't get it to work on their setup.
Sounds a bit dodgy, but the other PCB I bought from him in the same batch works perfectly.
Now, finally getting around to see if I could fix it, I realized the +5V on my cab was a little low, hanging just below an actual 5V (supposedly it's not a bad idea to have it a bit above 5V, since the power could lose voltage inside actual the board before reaching the various chips).
So I went all the way up to 5.3V (measured from the connector) which gave me around 5.1V on the main CPU chip, and down-adjusting it a bit I managed to hit an exact 5 volts on the CPU - I'm afraid of going much higher as I don't want to fry the circuits on this or other boards.
What happens every time I try booting it, no matter my 5V setting, is the same thing - I get to the ROM check screen where all the roms pass (I even tried holding the test switch to supposedly "rebuild" the EEPROM on the board), and after that screen the boards just restarts.
Does anyone here have a Sunset Riders board and/or maybe you are familiar with the problem? Perhaps, if you have a cabinet where the game works, could you measure the voltage on the JAMMA connector and tell me what you have it at?
