PC Engine, with Super CD, RGB Modded...price?

Post by evil_ash_xero »

Like the title says. I'm just curious how much one would cost.

Sounds from the description that it still has issues with the XRGB3? He says about adjusting AFC level etc.

His Duos work nicely with the XRGB-3. Absolutely no blackouts in either B0 or B1 and you have to use AFC lv. 3 in B1.

Ah right, I wonder if that will be the case with the XRGB3->Edge combination too though.

Did you ever discover the secret as to what made a XRGB3 compatible PC Engine mod and what didn't by the way?

not yet and I suspect the signal of the original PCE/Core1/Core2 to be slightly different to that of a Duo/R/RX system.

You know, i'm not the biggest PC Engine fan, and only have about 6 games for it, but I just thought this was a beautiful piece of hardware, and couldn't pass it up. I think the "new lens" got me.

Yep, NEC made some cool looking PC Engine hardware back in the late 1980s and into the early 1990s. Tis a shame that they dropped out of the console hardware wars with their PC-FX 32-bit system being the very last major console to be supported by them. In January of 1994, when word got out that TTI wasn't going to distribute the upcoming PC-FX console stateside, retailers dumped their remaining TG-16/Turbo Duo software & hardware at dirt cheap prices to make room for more incoming (and profitable) SNES & Genesis games + hardware on their retail shelves.

I got this thing in today, and it's pretty sweet. He does a nice job. It's certainly bigger than the little TurboGraphx I used to have, as a kid.
