Sorry if this has been discussed before in another thread, I searched some old ones but found no definite answer so...
My question is, is there any difference between the US and Japanese Dreamcast versions of Mars Matrix?
I know the menus have different names for the modes and such (plus Japanese text vs. English in some places) but any substantial differences?

I believe the Japanese version of the game is considered to be the "real" one
US settings have the difficulty at 2 while Japan at 4 same goes for PRO GEAR no Arashi.

The Dreamcast versions are identical, gameplay-wise.

Re: Mars Matrix question
Still offtopic, but this topic is technically over as is, so we may as well go into something related. The US CPS2 version of MM actually uses difficulty 3. Giga Wing and Progear use 2.
Speaking of which, I really want to know if there are serious differences within various Progear/Giga Wing/Mars Matrix/<other game> versions when they're all set to difficulty 4 anyway. I heard Progear actually had something involving enemy HP, but I never looked into it.

Re: Mars Matrix question
I should fire up the JPN region version of CPS2 Mars Matrix and see what the default setting is for that one. Hmmm, I wonder if it's at 2 or is it at 3 difficulty setting?
