Absolutely love Tetris Attack. Probably the SNES/SFC game I play the most. Much better than the SFC version Panel de Pon imho.

The SNES/SFC has such a deep and quality library of games. Take your time discovering the gems and enjoying them.

Logged in just to say that these guys are right. Tetris attack is an *amazing* game. If you have someone to play with, this one will last forever. I played this one so much at some point I had dreams about it at night, and I would randomly wake up at 3-4 in the morning to play a random session, only to find my roomate waking up, too, for the exact reason. Very few games have had that effect on me, ever. Definitely one of the best games of the system besides all the great, obvious games already mentioned.

Tetris Attack ruled my life for a long time too, but Planet Puzzle League kind of killed my enthusiasm for the series, and I don't know why. It seems like the game should gain something from the sliding controls with the stylus, but it kinda lost the frantic feel. You can use the d-pad controls still of course, but it would seem to put you at a disadvantage (playing online and stuff.) The Q?-ish graphics and music didn't seem to stick either.

What makes the US one better? I know the JP one has 11 stages normally and a special boss for S. Hard (Cordelia) and the US one has 12 stages no matter what. I'm not sure about difficulty differences. As far as I know, all of the modes and most of the music is the same. I have the JP one and I like it quite a bit.

Edit: Checked the videos again. Bowser looks just as hard, if not harder than Cordelia, on the hardest level. Bowser seems to be doing more chains, from what I seen in videos.

Not the GBA game that is very budget in feel? I like the DS one, but I don't like how it lacks the faster difficulties of previous games.

This is my favorite console, but I just didn't feel like looking at this thread until now. Drum wasn't trolling, Casper.

Hyper Iria is a fun game, and it does not deserve the hate some people give it. I made a walkthrough of the game for Obiwanshinobi and anybody else who gets stuck on the 3rd and 5th levels.

Here are some games that may not have been mentioned yet:
Battle Cross
DoReMi Fantasy: Milon no Daibouken
The Firemen
Jaki Crush
Popful Mail
Ranma 1/2, Ougijaanken (Puzzle Fighter game)
Super Puyo Puyo 2
Tales of Phantasia (translated)
And as was mentioned before:
Macross
Wild Guns
Secret of Mana

I may as well shamelessly plug my Super Famicom site again:

How's the gameplay of SFC/SNES Thunder Spirits game compare to the MD/Genesis version of Thunderforce IV/Lightning Force?

If I remember correctly Thunder Spirits either omits some levels or changes them around, among maybe a few other things. Anyone, feel free to correct me on that.

Thunder Spirits is Thunder Force III with some bits added in and some more taken away - not Thunder Force IV.

Thanks for the clarification regarding Thunder Spirits and the Thunder Force III connection, TransatlanticFoe.

Not the whole story. Thunder Spirits is a port of Thunder Force AC, which is a ridiculous version of Thunder Force III that you just have to play, to compare and to fully understand.

Otherwise, here's some stuff I care for:

-Aerobiz
-Battle Clash and Metal Combat
-Bounty Sword
-Contra III
-Dragon View
-EarthBound
-Energy Breaker
-Equinox
-Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest
-Final Fantasy IV
-Final Fantasy V
-Final Fight 3
-Fushigi no Dungeon
-Ganbare Goemon - Kirakira Douchuu - Boku ga Dancer ni Natta Riyuu
-Getsumen no Anubis
-Gradius III
-Granhistoria - Genshi Sekaiki
-Kirby's Dream Course
-Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei
-Paladin's Quest and Lennus II
-Majin Tensei
-Mega Man VII
-Mega Man X2
-Mystic Ark
-Pacific Theater of Operations
-Phalanx
-Prince of Persia
-Rockman & Forte
-R-Type III
-Shin Megami Tensei
-Soul Blazer
-Sparkster
-Super Castlevania IV
-Super Famicom Wars
-Super Mario RPG
-Super Metroid
-Super R-Type
-The 7th Saga
-Ys V - Ushinawareta Suna no Miyako Kefin (Expert)

I need to expand this list, and make what's there more meaningful.

The slowdown and flicker in this game is really bad. I remember that most weapon choices were crap and didn't help in advancing through the game. I did get to finish it with a couple of ships (I'd always get blasted by the final boss), so Super E.D.F. is super easy. Decent music and background designs (esp. the space colony in level... 4, I think) 8)
