Mega Drive/Genesis shell

Would a japanese Mega Drive shell fit in a Genesis motherboard? They seem to be the same, but never know about pins and holes inside.

I have a japanese Mega Drive. The external is beautiful, but the DB9 controller connections are fucked up. And now I found a good deal on a Genesis, but the shell is absolutely awful (the guy probably cleaned the thing with some type of corrosive material [!!!]).

I would get the Genesis and use the japanese shell if possible.

I did the trade on that Genesis anyway. Even if the thing will not fit, the trade was a no brainer. I'll find soon.

But yeah, I would be interested in a new one. But no money for now, and there's an expensive shipping for an item this heavy, not to mention customs.
