I'm liking this one. Definitely at least aiming for a first loop clear, although I have no idea how hard the later stages get.

Shienryu was suggested, but the guys decided that anything that runs on ST-V, ZN-1 etc should be disallowed from the selection process due to the higher system requirements needed to run them smoothly. (Yes, I helped them with the selection process this year.)dpful wrote:STOKED!
I couldn't have been happier unless you said Shienryu

So, is this game playable with only 4 buttons? I don't have 6 buttons, because I only play shmups.

Three are shot, three are bomb. Just choose your favorite bomb and keep the three shots. Or two and two.emphatic wrote:So, is this game playable with only 4 buttons? I don't have 6 buttons, because I only play shmups.

Should be possible to bind it as
A = Fire 1
B = Fire 2
A+B = Fire 3
C = Bomb 1
D = Bomb 2
C+D = Bomb 3
Or eventually better
A,B,C = Fire 1,2,3
D+{A,BC} = Bomb 1,2,3
To map a NOT (key1 only if key2 is not also pressed), enter, press first key, then quickly press the second key(s) twice.

Works with ShmupMAME 3.0b, in fact. Quite a stroke of luck considering the ancient MAME build it's based on.dpful wrote:dpful - 1,347,790 - 4 - mame

Yeah, input lag is too gross with this one, and I'm unable to configure shmupmame. Fuck week 2. :>

Mmm...progress...also, it seems Stage 4 was a bit tame for me when I entered it. Must've been the two deaths on the boss lol

Had 380k by the end of stage 1, must have been by killing the boss with a bomb or something. Getting used to this game is hard... panic bombing doesn't necessarily mean not getting hit, like if the stage 2 boss red blobs charge you or something. There's a delay when you switch shots too which I don't like.

Re: STGT'11 Week 2: Daioh
Getting slightly frustrating, was killed by an invisible bullet due to flicker.
I've always had a habit of dashing across the screen to a new location when I panic bomb, and this game is punishing me severely for that. I was able to break the habit in Garegga so I should be able to here as well.
Towards the end of stage 4 I'm starting to have trouble, annoying enemies that don't want to die quickly.

This game randomly hangs my mame...
Well, it doesn't appear to be random, as it always happen when switching from Weapon 2 -> Weapon 1
But not always..

Now that's exactly what I had hoped for. Rather unknown game and totally aweseome frantic gameplay. Also best Homing Laser ever!
