I am from Texas, and now live in Hawaii... Probably the only two states that could probably survive on their own (both have shitloads of military, and resources) if they ever decided to suceed. I lived in Japan for 7 years between these two locations.

The obvious question.... did you endure a long trip across the border, or is your story of imigration a rather boring one?

@GaijinPunch:

Well, I meant stranded as in "Not going anywhere for a while". I like Az. Getting to the States was a matter of having my mother getting married here, and bringing us about 8 years ago or such. Not much to it, eh?

Had it involved a stakeout with the border authorities it would have been a lot cooler.

I'm your typical boring American....but I'm not Joe Sixpack.

I love my country but god damn, so many things about it sucks. The music, the videogames we get (all the crappy mainstream stuff and no shmups  ), even the big ugly cars and SUVs that we have.

But, I love this country for it's freedom, the freedom to let me import a Saturn and the freedom of speech to say "screw you guys" to all the modern hyped-up crap that's out there.

I'm from Ukraine. As a result, I have to import all of my console games, no "domestic releases" for me, heh...

I think I'm probably the only person from the Republic of Ireland on here.

For some reason, this topic has been forgotten... But it could be valuable for the members of small countries. Like Bulgaria.
I am from there and because of this topic now I know that there are at least two other Bulgarians in the forum. I know few arcades spread over the big cities, so I plan to travel for a while...
Why not someone to make a poll for the countries with small population - like Bulgaria, Sweden? Never mind, by writing this post I put in the news the communication for ethnic searchers via the topic.

SoCal over here, behby. ORANGE COUNTY REPRESENT! Hey, we even have our own "Newport" [Beach, that is] 8)

I was an illegal alien to boot, but we applied for political asylum once we got here and slooooowly went through the residency and citizenship process (it took about 16 years) 8)

Nah, man. Dealing with the smuggling routes through Central America and all of Mexico was hell back then. It is much, much worse now.

As for my heritage, I am part French-Canadian/creole, part Iranian with very little Spanish blood. Can't say I know too many people like that.

As for where I live, Houston, Texas. I love the food here (Whataburger, Chick-Fil-A, Niko Niko's and Papasito's are golden.). I hate the highways, though. I'm so used to things being close together, now I've gotta drive a little more than 30 minutes every time I need to the goddamn inner loop of downtown (for this reason, I dropped out of U of H and am registering for fall term at Wharton).

I really, REALLY don't want to live in the U.S.A. my entire life. Hopefully one day I will live in Guilin China, then Venice Italy, then somewhere in Germany or Russia. But I have no desire to ever visit Iran. Not just because it's run by religious assholes, but because the scenery and architecture is just plain unappealing to me.

It kind of sucks, because i'm from the U.S., which some people find interesting.
Unfortunately, i'm from West Virginia...which is just sad and NOT interesting.

My dad is from Spain though, so i'm a little different from the rest of the people here. One thing that is SO freaking sad, is that there's a lot of people I have met from right next door(Maryland), who don't know that we're a STATE. We are not western Virginia. It really blows my mind at how..uneducated some of our own citizens are...about our own freaking country!

I've often wondered what the religious makeup of this page is. I am an atheist, and don't like many religions, so it's probably best I don't know.
