So happens that the house me and the wife currently live in has the standard Hot Water Heater, which was purchased 4 years ago by the previous owners outright from Reliance. So when we bought the house it was just thrown in along with some other things.
Sure, it saved us like $75 every three months when the reliance bill came, but the damn thing broke today and after a small $300 piece was replaced, labour, and tax the damn thing cost me over $400.... which is more than it would cost to rent the thing for a year.
And of course when it's rented Reliance covers all the fees for anything that goes wrong with it...ever.
God damn.

Yeah...the water is so hard around here that the damn things just flat out rot out

<@scootnet> if you were a real gamer, you could jerk it to Super Metroid box art
Re: Always rent your Hot Water Heater....
Is renting hot water heaters a Canadian thing? I've never heard of anyone offering to rent out a hot water heater before around here, if you need one you'd just buy it from an appliance store or a Home Depot type place.
