Hiya! How would I connect my Dreamcast to a CM8833 II? It has a 9 pin d-sub socket for RGB. It also has 3 RCA sockets. The problem is where would I get a RGB lead that terminates in either a 9 pin d-sub or three RCAs? The only RGB cables I've seen for the DC are SCART...
[quote="Stefan_L"]This is how i connected rgb scart to my philips (se pic).
Maybe dont look good but it works
Boy, it is a bit ugly!! But, like you say, it works Do you think you could send me the pinout diagrams that you used? Or maybe point me in the right direction?
Thanks Stefan! I'll maybe give this a try. I already have an Amiga lead for this monitor so I'll probably use that. If anybody has any more info or ideas I'm still open!!
The Phillips CM monitors are basically the same as the Commodore/Amiga 1080, 1084, etc. monitors.
They're great for consoles, but you can't buy ready-made RGB cables for them. I can make cables up for you if needed, or it's not too hard to put some together yourself if you're handy with a soldering iron.
If you're using a Dreamcast, the easiest way to put an RGB cable together is just to buy a scart cable, cut the end off, and replace it with a DB9 connector and two RCA plugs. There's no need to resort to Stefan's weird wires-stuffed-into-the-connector idea - DB9s are cheap and easy to work with.
If you're not able to do it yourself and want some nice cables, be sure to hit Matt up. I bought some off him a while back and they're of excellent quality.
