shmupmame 2.2 is based on mameFX and it seems mameFX had some problems with the app staying active even after you close it, you might want to check your task manager after you close it to make sure it has terminated properly, having multiple instances running at once will likely cause those problems mentioned earlier.
If I could actually find it to begin with I could try it for you as early as tomorrow. Google isn't giving me results.

Cool, thanks for the link, I'll be at Uni tomorrow where I know of a friend whose laptop gives the 0xcnumbers error with Shmupmame v3.0b, and report the results here (or edit into this post if necessary).

Just out of curiosity you're aware I tested GareMAME on said machine before and it worked right?

Now, from what I understand, didn't Raizing games have like 3 frames of lag, and now it's been reduced to 2? So, it's better, but still a little laggy?

Any chance of cutting that down to 1?

I am using 2.2 and I tried booting up Mars Matrix and Giga Wing and they both go ballistic as if I am holding in the fast forward button, ProGear works fine though strange


I use a e8400,4gbs ram,ati 4850 and win7x64 btw anyone else encountered something similiar?


edit upon closer inspection it seems that tons of games to do thi aswell strange how ProGear for some weird ass reason functions perfectly in order.... Oh well I am only playing ProGear right now and it works as it should so I am fine for now.



Maybe il just go for 3,0b,,

Try setting it to Throttle in the game's Properties menu, or just check whatever settings Progear has and copy them to the other games.

As for testing WolfMAME Plus v0.99, it worked! I did a quick load of it and it ran fine, and it loaded ESPRade without problems. I'll do further testing later.

Hello i have some "problem" with my mouse on Shmupmame v3.0 (x6)
I find nowhere the settings to set the mouse sensitivity , when i play on some games like Dodonpachi , Espgaluda my character is very slow and it's impossible to play with that ^^
I've searched on the general input game options , and the defaut game option but no sucess =/


Could someone help me?

Is there any way to get rid of the ROM info underneath the Flyer? I'd like for the Flyer to look larger.

You're not supposed to play with your mouse man ! The input style of the mouse is not adapted to those games at all. Use your keyboard instead and you should see it works much better.

I haven't had a single question answered, but maybe someone will know the answer to this one...I hope.

In TATE, when I move side to side, my scanlines disappear, until I stop moving. Any way to stabilize this?

These games are designed to be played with digital controls and a mouse isn't going to accomplish that. Your slow moving character/ship is supposed to move at that speed.
This isn't going to control like an iOS game.

It's not Shmupmame, you don't have the right ROMs. Further details are illegal to discuss in this forum.

Garegga, Rayforce and Bakraid work just fine for me.

Edit: Actually I do have some problems.

Can't run Gigawing, Mars Matrix, or Progear

Same issue with all three files being unable to load jx.03 and jx.04 (Been having aggravating trouble trying to fix in RomCenter)

PS: would of been alot easier if these weren't japanese branched versions.

I've just got a Mac and excuse my ignorance, but is there a Mac version of Shmupmame already compiled? I could only find people asking about compiling instructions when searching :oops: Thanks!

Nah, I don't think anyone has put up a compiled mac binary. But compiling it was pretty much putting shmupmame files into MAME and then typing "make" in terminal so you barely need to know anything.

Can't have shmupmame 3.0 on mac though, since it's based on an old version of MAME. Maybe if someone forward ported code from the 0.99 macmame or something and made a new version of it, but I don't see that happening.

Nah I just haven't been on here in a long long time. Perhaps I shouldn't of bumped the post I made and nZero wouldn't of marked my last post as being against the rules :| I can be impatient when I can't get games to work that I eagerly want to play

Between the old game drivers with old bugs, old romsets required, and the crash on random PCs, even lagless Raizing/8ing games are sadly not enough for me to recommend tackling this build. The way to play right-the-fuck-now is always the current MAME build - at least, try playing with that first and see if you can take it.

Thanks Zaarock :) I'm amazed Mac Os X comes with a compiler by default (which was the only problem with compiling it on Windows).

Shmupmame 2.2 is another good alternative to the most recent MAME even if you lose a few goodies (savestate support for DDP and the like say), and no more custom buttons as in 0.99.

v3.0b stopped working for me a few days ago - it loads just fine, but when I try to run any game or when I try to click on anything in the "help" tab, there is no response.

Any idea?

A lead on the 0xC0000005 issue, which appeared on my new laptop.

I was getting my kicks with MAMEUI64 instead, which I happen to keep in the same directory. After setting my buttons in MAMEUI64 and quitting, it also crashed, albeit with a generic "closed unexpectedly" error message. I ran UI64 again and saw that my button settings had been lost. Probably the crash was from failing to write one or more config files.

On right-clicking the MAME folder and checking the properties, I found that some files in it were read-only. I unchecked read-only and applied it to the folder, subfolders and files. Bam, working ShmupMAME 3.0b.

Edit: Until the next boot. This one's a stubborn mother fucker.

YES! I got them to work. WOOOOO!! I feel like doing so many backflips off the wall now. This is just truly amazing. Once again thank you so damn much nimitz. And as suggested in the "Shmups Netplay" thread reply by "Nick420", I totally agree that there should be Netplay incorporated into this. That would be very interesting.

Not to be a demanding dick or anything but since this pertains to a whole load of shmups being able to run more flawlessly, this really should get a sticky. I am seriously surprised it has not been stickied.

Does anyone know how to run Shmupmame with allowing NVRAM for recording Raiden Fighters JET inputs without the countdown stuff? I've looked around everywhere and used my Google-fu with no success.

You only need to do the countdown once or copy NVRAM file from previous installation or IIRC you can download the NVRAM files from the interweb somewhere.
I guess stuff like that is the price of emulation :D
