When the companies within a niche genre can't be bothered to come up with new IP's then you know the market is dead on its feet.

Well, I for one am happy about this. I loved Espgaluda, and as long as the system stays just as fun, I can definitally deal with more of the same.

I did not see anyone bitch when a New Dodonpachi game was announced.

I for one love Espgaluda and welcome any sequel Cave throws at us.

I am sure they will release another ORIGINAL game soon.

Espgaluda deserves a sequel, really looking forward to this.. and this is not the first game cave games get sequels either, remember donpachi, just because they make a sequel does not mean it is the downfall of Cave :P

Im very happy. :D :D 8)

For all the cave haters: the last 3 games before this [ketsui, mushihime, Ibara] have all been originals.

Cave sequels own anyway, so its irrelevant.

While Galuda is a classic in its own right I consider it the weakest of Cave's games. It's too easy when playing for survival and too slow when playing for score. It just lacks that intensity that has me coming to after a good game with a crick in my neck because I've been sitting so still for so long. I'm glad to see Cave putting out new stuff, but unless the system is advanced, I think my interest may be hovering around where it would be for Shikigami 3...

i repsect your opinion because i know how much you love shmups and how long you have been on these boards.
But you have to remember many people consider Galuda one of their absolute favorite cave games, myself included.

Yeah, that was kinda my thought too. In terms of character and art, Mushhime was fresher than this. After Mushi and Ibara I was kind of anticipating that they would create yet another new property.

But maybe just maybe, since Mihara is such a Galuda fan maybe he will try to get a home port and Arika will be back with Cave? :)

Anyways, I don't even own an ESPRaDe PCB yet. :( :(

Well, I'd be a little more excited if they'd gone back to the futuristic cyber city theme of the first. At least alternate a bit.

Cave announces a new game that's not a mobile phone game or a puzzler, and we get this bitching and whining? What the hell?

I'm happy. Although we knew it was coming.

I'll start getting really excited when a PS2 port that is to be done by Arika is announced. ESPGaluda is probably my favourite Cave game (stiff competition from ESP RA.DE.), so naturally I won't join those who complain.

And no, Galuda was never a pseudo sequel or anything. It was always a PREQUEL.

The credited illustrator, Masaki Hirooka, drew some Duel Masters cards. http://find-ccg.com/Find/ByGame/Duel_Ma ... rooka.html

I'm a beginner in japanese, but seems that it's written that girl holding a book is called Asagi, and that she is the third Galuda. For the rest I have no idea, obviously.

This is great news, but we all sorta already knew this was coming from Cave's financial report posted here a few weeks back. ESPGaluda is my fave Cave game, and my second favorite shmup ever (behind ikaruga), so I can't wait! I just hope there's a home port, but I'm pretty sure there will be one. Maybe it will be for the PS3 or the X360 though, depending on what hardware the arcade game runs on. :?:

Well, if the Xbox and GC can't output low enough resolutions for Cave's shooters, I don't see how this game could ever be ported to PS3 or 360.

And it will probably run on the same hardware as Mushi and Ibara. So if it ever gets ported it will almost certainly have to be PS2 again (there's also the size of the installed user base to consider).

Right?

How about playing in Arrange, my favourite mode on the PS2 port :)

Well, I'm not thrilled about the drawing style on the poster but I really like the soft coloring, very...galuda.

As for the game I'm kind of indifferent, didn't care much for the first one and the soundtrack was way too obtrusive(Fort City-Arrange version is AWESOME though)

Y'know the peeps in this forum crack me up! Cave annonce that we're going to get ANOTHER shooter, basically a long dead and forgotten genre that we love, and we do nothing but bitch and moan about it. Sure a handful of developers still make the odd shooter, but don't kid yourselves, it a dying genre.
We deride the fact that it isn't an original IP. Hell sadly we have people here mumping about the bloody art work.
What the Hell happened to these forums? Used to be a time when a new shooter was greeted with enthuisim. Used to be a time when a new shooter by Cave was greeted with RABID enthuisism.
Sad as FUCK!
