I'm very skeptical about SF4 but if that's true, bring on the port! Well, if it doesn't suck like recent Capcom efforts *CoughFightingJamCough*

I thought Fighting Jam was supposed to be Capcom's last 2D fighter? Maybe I was wrong...unless they're trying (again) to bring the series into 3D...?

Man, for some reason this announcement makes me feel a great deal of excitement and trepidation at the same time. Don't screw it up, Capcom!

Yes CAPCOM USA COIN-OP is closed. If it does come out, I just can't see it on Atomiswave...who knows what will happen. Fighting Jam was on System 246.

I could really care less about whatever games Capcom gives us next, UNLESS they finally get off their arses and give us the last 3 shmups in the 194X series. I'd say it's MORE then about time they did this! :?

Personally, arcade units shoved into the sides of fish 'n' chip shops disgust me. However, the actual centers that dedicate their entire store to arcade units, deserve respect.

...that is until they remove all raiden, metal slug, and oldish material, and replace it with this dancing/movement garbage. Basically, this is what my local store has done. Removed all of the good, good stuff(being metal slug, etc) and chosen the path of games such as Tekken 4. However, if Street Fighter 4 is released, I may just pay them a visit.

I would love to see Street Fighter 4, but I hope Capcom will ease up onthe "Freaks" Makato was my favourite from ThirdStrike. The shoto's seemed less apealing, which was a good thing.

I used to play alot of arcades games while at fish 'n' chip shops or various other indie shops, it adds a certain nostalgia to me, esp during the early 90's.

While I'm posting, an indie shop that had a cab of Metal Slug/SnowBros/PuzzleBobble closed down about a month ago.
The whole precent is now nearly all shut apart from the cafe.

For SF4, Capcom should still have one freak character.

Besides just bringing over the expected Ryu & Ken, Capcom should have some more returnees from others in the series.

SF1: Joe, Eagle
SSF2T: Dhalsim, Vega, Fei Long, Sagat
SF3-3S: Dudley, Alex, Chun-Li, Makoto

Add another 9 fighters to that for a grand total of 21. Rather than rebuilding the game, build onto SF3 3rd Strike's system. Parrying can go, however- and it's time to give Akuma the boot for good.
Kinect? KIN NOT.

Don't like Gouki?

At any rate, yay I guess. The past... 3 or 4 Capcom fighting games have sucked horribly to me, so maybe they can get their shit together for this one.

Ken in third strike is broken, if they bring him back which is expected, they should balance characters properly this time.

I'd say it's time to give him a break simply because he's been so overused...I mean come on, making him a hidden character in X-Men CotA? Not like we don't have enough shotos already, at any rate...
freddiebamboo wrote:Lose Dan as well while their at it...
Heh heh, as a Dan fan I must protest...sort of, anyways. ;) Dan, as I see it, is truly an icon of fighting games, the original "joke" character, who is brazenly programmed not to "fit in" or be balanced at all, but is just there for people to mess around with and get some laughs from (or show off if they're really good). Few characters have set a standard quite so much as Dan has. However, as I said with Akuma, too much exposure will kill most any character...though Dan hasn't been nearly as overexposed as Akuma or his ilk, at least not yet.

Wishful thinking if you ask me...has Capcom EVER managed to avoid leaving a crucial glitch or something along those lines in even one of its fighting games? It doesn't exactly have a stellar track record on that front...afaik, Third Strike is supposed to be one of its more balanced efforts.

Ken broken? What is Chun Li or Yun then?

They are top tier of course, but 3rd Strike is fairly balanced. Don't blame just CAPCOM, every fighting game has balance issues, it is just unavoidable when you decide to include a diverse cast of characters.

Also I hate these ideas of bringing back "certain" old characters. Everyone has a "list" and it is impossible to please more than one person. Less characters is better at first, good for balancing. As they update and bring in more versions they may add a couple new characters.

With Street Fighter 3 I think they tried to get rid of everyone, but ended up putting in Ken & Ryu.

I'd still like to see an update of the original Street Fighter. Something about the graphics and atmosphere I really like. I was also disappointed when Capcom moved away from the look of SF2 .

Just like NG/2I sucked. They have the ability to make a great game, especially nowdays where Sega/Sammy/SNK loketests the shit out of everything and makes adjustments from player feedback.

1.Under Defeat (probably DC port)
2. Espagulda 2 (definite PS2 port by end of year)
3. SF 4 (hopefully 2D)

I do not think Espgaluda 2 will be released on PCB until November.

I think we will probally see the 8 month cycle like we have had with the past 3 releases by Cave/Arika.

Sometime next july is more like it.

I also pray for a 2D 6 button Street Fighter 4 but on Sega Naomi not Atomiswave.

Under Defeat seems destined for Xbox 360 and Dreamcast with the recent announcement G.Rev is developing for Xbox 360.

Yeah i hope SF 4 is 2D and 6buttons too, i don't like the 4button layout at all, they just made the game more complex and not fun. Well anyways about Under Defeat i rather see it on DC, i don't care about Xbox 360(if it comes on Xbox 360 i won't buy it). Also how long did Mushihiesama take before it was ported to PS2. I'm think Arika will work on this game and we will see it later Dec, maybe Feb. Next July is too long.
