LOTR EE Blu-Ray- Green debate

Post by evil_ash_xero »

I was wondering if any of you guys have gotten the new LOTR EE Blu Ray set? There's a huge debate going on about a "green tint" on FOTR. I notice it some, but it never looks like it does on the screenshots I have seen on the net. Or ESPECIALLY the YouTube video.

Any personal experiences?

It was changed to look like the Hobbit.

It was also Peter Jacksons choice to do it.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

The BD of Fellowship looks fantastic on a properly calibrated TV set. The problem is that people see the screenshots on their PC monitors which are usually set to 7500 or 8500°K color temperature. A properly set TV is calibrated to (reddish looking) 6500°K which kinda counters the green color grading.

I'll pop it in shortly. I just played a copy on my PC, that I ripped yesterday. I didn't see anything crazy, but I'm not doing a 1:1 comparison either.

It looks absolutely fine to me and nothing like the shots posted on the net on my setup, and besides it ONLY affects the first film, Two Towers and Return of the King do not exhibit this issue.

Yesterday I saw the Trilogy EE-Blu-Rays in a single session!!!...Nice improvement of picture quality.
Bought the uk version because of the sound issues of the german box (music/voices are 4% slower as usual and on Return Of The King dialogues are asynchronous....very poor WB
