It'd be good if both teams names have a reference to Casino or Goodge. Maybe we could work the word 'Electrocoin' in there...

Electrocoin Bespoke Cabinet Maker's Guild
Goodge Street Working Men's Social Club

If none of the four maybes become yeses then just leave me out and and you've got the seven to make up one team - I'm going to be away for at least the last two weeks and probably more anyway.

if the Darius burst Chronicles really lands to Trocadero, i guess some neighbour countries shmuppers would come to enjoy this rush :o

:?: is there trace somewhere of big picture of the marvelous picture you made for the shmup meeting (the one with russian massive aircraft team). i think sometimes of it and making a poster of it :)

Cheers :D

The hard copy I hung up in Goodge was eventually stolen. It'll probably pop up in Christie's for a mil in a couple of years.

London Meet IV was Huge. Lasted two weeks  . Over 30 team members from Italy, Germany, France and the UK turned up.

Here's 6

and I've found the photo of my stolen poster when I put it up

I can only make tomorrow. Was down there earlier but I had to go, sorry dan76. You'll probably get my last credit though so I expect you to make good use of it, or at least better than I would. I still have no control over scoring on Maniac, I got the second extend somewhere in the second half of stage 4 my first credit and near the beginning of stage 3 the second and I was trying harder the first time.

I'll try and make it down more after the next couple of weeks, to watch Aliquantic ripping up DOJ and meet Illyrian.

I wondered who's that was - cheers! I eventually got the clear on Original - made it to the last boss on Maniac... but a pretty uneven session was had considering I pumped £2 in the machine. I've started playing just using rapid shot as it takes longer to take down enemies this way and keeps the chain going. Generally scoring a bit better - but dying a bit more.

I might be completely wrong about this BUT - As for scoring in maniac the simplest way that I understand it is that by tapping A once or twice a second you add whatever value the lasers firing from your options have to your overall counter. It's only worth doing this once the lasers have built up a decent number though. So on a large enemy (stage 2 mid boss) use rapid shot making sure your lasers are in constant contact with him/her/it. Once they have a good sized number to them (500 ???) start tapping. For every tap 2000 (500 for each option) should be added to the counter making it increase rapidly. That's all I know - anyone else please chip in and correct!

I was hoping to get in most evenings this week - not the case now. I'll try and make Thursday.

Went down this evening.

Dan was there. Had a good time messing around on maniac difficulty on Mushi. Dan got like 2/3rds of the way through the final boss starting level 5 with no lives and no bombs left.

Also learned how the scoring system in deathsmiles actually works.

I'm back from the middle of nowhere. Sorry I missed you DEL. Getting back in time to get other stuff done didn't help!

In so far as team names, I think we should keep Casino Royale as – even though I thinks it's a bit daft – it's been going a while. And if we're sticking with names, I think Goodgefella's is bloody great, and based on a far better film than Casino Royale!

So, we should sort out teams properly. I'll pm everybody in just a tick.

And when are people down the arcade this week? I'm gagging to get back into being there every week!

Hey no worries. You returned to a life without the TROC though.

I went to Game Focus and bought the X360 Limited Editions there  DFK - sealed and Death Smiles II

Funland is actually closed down, apparently for good. I don't think it's DEL's fault though.

And just when me and JDE had found a couple of games to play in there... (not to mention the Darius burst speculations)

What! The arcade at the Troc is closed down?

Shit. That's a biggie! I wonder if they'll sell of all the cabs? Maybe Casino can buy me Initial D 4.

Actually - at least it will mean Casino will get busier.

Is this really true? It's shut already? No more light gun games or ID4 for me. Me and my wife love trips to the Troc.

EDIT: The official website says Funland's closure is temporary. I hope that's the case.

EDIT 2: Actually - the 'ticker' bit on the Funland website says its to do with a power failure.

Well the "apparently for good" bit is based on what people have said on the internet but I am a negative person and I kind of think it's true. Sucks if it is. Funland themselves said "closed until further notice" (and possible relocation?) on Thursday and it's been closed since I think last weekend.

I wasn't going to come down Casino this week but I feel like I should now. If you manage to decide a day most people will be in I'll come.

They couldn't handle DEL's awesomeness, and both the premises and the staff spontaneously combusted.

From the chat with the staff of Goodge, it sounds like the TROC is OFF!
I've been expecting it to close long before now. I hear they sold it last year.
My awesomeness was overshadowed by Mills' GREATNESS :!: So they had to come OFFF
