Free point and click games

Post by SheSaidDutch »

Well so I dont really play games much anymore, but lately I've been playing some point and click games on my laptop.
Any suggestions on any free point and click games?

I remember playing

Seven Days A Stranger
Case of the Crabs
some game mentioned in PC Gamer 1year back, something about a delivery guy that gets caught up in a hotel with robots and weird aliens, something to do with the package that he delivered.
A game where you play a geek I think It was called No Action Jackson

If you go to the ScummVM site, you can download the complete version of 'Beneath a Steel Sky' which has now been made public domain. :)

You may want to disable the voiceovers though...

I've been playing Beneath a Steel Sky lately. Like most games on the SCUMM engine, it's freeware now, so you shouldn't have much difficulty finding it.

Edit: ARGH

BASS is available now from the scummvm site, and I just noticed that Flight of the amazon Queen is available too. I don't think anything else is freeware (???), BUT, you can often pick them up for next to nothing, and use the datafiles with scummvm. Found an unplayed copy of Sam and Max the other day whilst helping my brother move house :)

There's apparently a Nintendo DS port of ScummVM in the works :)

i have a monkey island story. my brother bought his ps2 just before he left to stay with family in spain, and didn't buy a memory card. while he was gone i rented Escape, since i couldn't save or playing it through in one sitting (family tv), i had to replay through everything to make any progress. i used to know that game immensely well.

also, there was a fanpage for Grim Fandango that had a fan-made sequel in the works. last time i saw it was just a demo of manny running around on a bridge. anyone know what happened to this? i think the hosted site was Lost Souls Alliance...
I have no sig whatsoever.

I didn't partically like the control scheme or the way Guy Brush would "move" when you touched a unexpolorable part/area

heh I've only ever played the demo, although it had the same control scheme as MI4, It somehow worked well in Grim Fandango.
I especially liked the setting also

Peasant's Quest

These guys also remade King's Quest I and II [though I expect with II they took a few more, um... "liberties"].

You guys play Sam & Max Hit the Road or Full Throttle? I'd also throw in Companions of Xanth, but even as a once Piers Anthony fan, it's kind of crap :? and one of my favourites for nostalgia [also kind of crap, but amusingly so] is Future Wars, which was hidden on the Battle Chess disc. Awesome music for that one :D

Yeah dude, get Sam and Max Hit the Road.

It's awesome. Easily one of my most favorite point and clicks, if not one of my favorite games of all time.

Also, Syberia. Even if you don't like point and click games, Syberia is visually stunning. And I don't throw stupid phrases like "visually stunning" around all the time.
