Has anyone played this and can anyone explain what the fuck it's all about?

There's some bullet grazing, some black and white polarity and once you've cleared it in Mode A, you play the other modes with a ghost of youself from the first clear as your co-op partner...or something.
Sumishiro's obviously had the same sort of problems we've had with Jamestown about not being able to find anyone else to play with. As in some other life situations I can think of, if you can't find a partner just play with yourself lol
Also the staff roll is really ironic and continues with the do-it-yourself motif, which gave me a bit of a chuckle too

Can't you try to expand your thread title a little bit? I mean, it's too short. You should try to expand it something like "Lu - Doujin Shmup" or something like those because many people would never understand the title when it's too short.

Well I find short thread titles intriguing. This thread has had 95 views in the first four hours, so I guess some other people do too

But it does play very nicely:
Chaining enemies of the same colour gives you a reflect shield with which you can buzz bullets for score.
Once you've cleared Mode A then you can play Mode B alongside the ghost of your last clear.
Mode B Hard is the same with suicide bullets, but still not sure what Mode L is all about.
Since you play co-op with your ghost you can build better and better runs based on your previous best run giving this a really satisfying organic experience-based mechanic.

Turns out Mode L has fast aimed suicide bullets. I cleared Mode L by protecting my ghost with the realtime ship. Video here:

When I cleared B Hard that unlocked L Ultra so I wonder what else there is to unlock.
Also, if I get a 2player clear, can I use that in Mode B etc so there's two ghosts?
This game deserves a lot more attention cos the ghost co-op idea is excellent

I used Camtasia and the results are sooooo much better than with Camstudio!
And hurray cos YouTube 's lifted my 15min limit too
