Actually, if you're taking requests, dig out:
- Raiden Fighters 1 (45mil+ ALL attempt)
- Raiden Fighters 2 (I'll see if I can do a 90mil+ ALL on it again)
- Battle Garegga (for fun)

Can do all of these. Your RF2 skills are nuts, so that might be nice.Icarus wrote:Actually, if you're taking requests, dig out:

Garegga = yes please. Might have to attempt booting it several times though, seems it has a depleted capacitor somewhere and needs a bit of charging or something.

Okay guys, I'm going to book a table at this theme park eatery for 8 people (incl. me) on Saturday night at 7pm. It's £13.99 afaik and there's something for everyone guaranteed.
If for any reason you don't think you'll be attending (like if you have an allergy to food) speak now or forever hold your peace.

We should come up with some kind of scoring system based on how much we can manage to eat, I might actually be able to win that competition. (I would definitely be able to win that competition)
Also I thought I knew where you're taking us but "theme park eatery" throws me off, I hope it's as awesome as I'm imagining but what I'm imagining probably contravenes all kinds of health and safety regulations so I doubt it.

Re: Skykid's Seaside Shmup Matsuri 0'11: 16-17th July
Right, dinner booked on Saturday at the later time of 8:30. This is because they don't allow booking between peak times of 5:30-8:30 otherwise I would have gone an hour earlier. But this also gives Rupert time to get here for the meal as he'll be coming evening time.
Regarding arrival times, I'd like to meet everyone coming in to Brighton station at once so I can chaperone you to the flat, rather than going back and forth to pick dudes up one at a time.
I know Icarus, Chi and Rupert won't have to worry about this, but would it be possible for the following:
hzt
Spadgy
Dan76
JDE
To catch the 10:51 from London Victoria to Brighton together? It arrives at 11:50 so I could be at the station to grab you all together.
I obviously don't know if you have your own methods of getting down other than train (I don't even know which day Dan is coming yet!) so please let me know as soon as possible so we can work out a good collection place/time.
Sleeping stuffs:
For the 3 sleepers, Icarus, Chi, Rupert, I should have enough bedding for everyone. I'll make 2 floor beds, one in the living room, one in the bedroom, and then someone can grab the sofa. My flat is particularly warm so I think we should be alright overall cos no-one will want much in the way of covers. I'm sleeping under a sheet at the moment.
I would just say bring towels if you want to use the shower, and everything else should be cool.
Thanks all!

I'm cycling from Worthing but I can just show up at the same time as other people if they let me know.
I've been meaning to ask, is there somewhere near your flat or in the building or something where I could lock up my bike?

Yep, we've got a ton of bike racks and a bike shed on the premises, so no probs. If I can find out when Spadgy and JDE will be arriving, then we can synchronise you lot at Brighton station.hzt wrote:I'm cycling from Worthing but I can just show up at the same time as other people if they let me know.

Re: Skykid's Seaside Shmup Matsuri 0'11: 16-17th July
Hello! I'm back from my week's holiday in the wilderness, and now this meet is really near. So - Skykid - I'm bringing down two arcade sticks for your supergun?
Also, I do need to stay over I'm afraid. I'm pretty unfussy with comforts, so I can sleep in a tiny space on a hard floor if needed (and I can bring my own sleeping bag and pillow). Is that OK?
in terms of traveling down, I can certainly make the 10.51am train. Me and JDE could even meet in East London and head over together. Dan76, can you make that train?
Perhaps we can talk details in person at the arcade this week?

Ok, in that case mate, bringing a sleeping bag would make sense. More than happy to have you stay of course.
I know you have my number Will, so if you need to call at any point I'll be waiting for you, but if you guys can get on the same train that would be great. Just let me know when you're arriving and I'll be there to pick you up.
Also Spadge, just one arcade stick with a Neo input - I don't think there will be much 2P shenanigans and the MD pad hack is good enough if anyone fancies it. I don't want you to carry too much stuff.

Back from the meet. Thanks for an awesome meet Skykid, and for your wonderful hosting.
Sorry I had to leave a bit early!
CHI - we need your pictures! Put 'em up here when you get back.
So many games played this weekend. I fell in love with Outzone, and Skykid took the time to show me why Homura and Sengoku Ace 2 are so great - thanks man!
Should we attempt a list of every game that got played at the weekend?
EDIT: CHIsus Christ!

I'm back home now, just resting up and uploading some photos from the whole weekend. Thanks to the gracious host for the invite, and to the guys that stumped up for my train ticket. Really enjoyed the meet, got to see everyone again, and played some old favorites again. I definitely miss my Yagawa PCB collection now, after getting to play them again on a decent cab. Had fun chatting to everyone about everything and anything, even though I was hogging the cab for most of the weekend, lol.
And I want a projector now.
Great little social hookup, should definitely do it again!

Great weekend, I wish I could spend all my time playing endless shmups and eating huge plates of assorted meat. I've been having more fun at home this evening (marred only slightly by the shitness of my setup compared to Skykid's) trying out all the Batrider secrets Icarus demonstrated. I also played a credit of Battle Bakraid normal course and made to the last boss - and I don't think I'd ever played that before today. It was definitely a very educational weekend, as well as being a fun one.
I found a replay of that Adventure Baron thing on Niconico Douga, Icarus was only about 5 minutes from the end and those eyeball waves had a fairly easy safe spot. The last boss is a melon.

That game is seriously messed up, and yet has the most entertaining intermission music ever.

That Trans-Am gives me a hard on.
I just wanted to thank all the folks who attended for being so respectful and pleasant throughout. I did think Spadgy may prove uncontrollable after missing a bout of his medication, but instead he just forgot to take his hoodie home with him.
It's not the biggest flat, and I appreciate everyone taking care of the place, so thanks again!

Thanks so much for having us Tom. It was an amazing weekend. That was a phenominal set-up and your hosting skills were top-notch. It was great to hang out with everybody.
Heck, I even made some progress on Garegga with Icarus' Sega Rally-esque co-pilot advice.
I miss ESP Ra.De. on the Egret.
