Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE
mjclark, can you post a bigger screenshot so that we can see the error message more clearly?
".... that would be rubbish."
Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE
It says: ディスプレイモードが設定できません.
I can't work out how to get my print screen to make a much bigger image on photobucket though.

Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE
Try changing the UseHEL configuration to "1" instead of "0" in the game's .ini file.

Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE
Wonder if it's cos my monitor doesn't support 640x480.
Has anyone got this running on XP, and if so what res does your monitor support?
Also-can anyone upload preconfigured pc98 emulator with this installed, or at least a disk image.
I used to run Flame Zapper Kotsujin on T98Next emulator, but can't figure out how to get the ss3.exe to run on it!!!!

HELP!!!!!

Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE technical help
Do you already happen to have a PC 98 emulator of choice with a MS DOS system HD running? If so, you can just use DiskExplorer to transfer the downloaded sstXXX.exe file to your PC-98 system hd, start up the emulator, execute the file and it'll automatically install in a folder by the same name.mjclark wrote:And can anyone at least walk through how to run SST3 on a PC98 emulator?
HELP!!!!!
If you don't have one, you need the ms dos disk first and an empty image of a HDD first. You can create the latter one by using Anex86 and just clicking on the "new" button in the startup setting window. After that's done, start up the ms dos disk and at the cmd prompt enter "format /h" to enter the HDD format utility.
I don't remember all commands there right now, but if you need the info just tell and I fire it up and check it out again. (It's been a while)
...Basically the next steps consist of formatting the HDD, giving it a volume name and setting it as system partition. The format utility is pretty straightforward but it's all in Japanese.

Thanks ZOM!
That's great for PC98- got it running by doctoring a working hdi for another game, importing sst337.exe and deleting the original game and autoexec.bat. using disk explorer.
No sound though on T98Next so I'll try Anex86....
Nope- no sound on Anex86 either.
Once again: HELP!!!

Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE technical help
From m3tallica's suggestion that the problem with SST4 was XPs inability to display lower screen resolutions, I used RivaTuner top enable 320x240.
Now the game runs but at about 15fps and then freezes after 30secs of play.
So I guess this actually needs Win95/98 all the way.
Still havn't heard of anyone who's got the sound working on SST3 either.
Fun trying but

Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE technical help
I got it working on my netbook running XP, didn't even have to fuck around with it.
It's probably just coded poorly.
I've got Raiden II for PC and that uses DirectX 3, and it still works fine on Vista 64-bit. :P

Re: SHOOTERS SOLITUDE technical help
^Just fired up NpII and installed SST337 to check it out. No sound.
Does the game even come with sound? I don't see anything pointing towards it.

Hmm- how confusing. nZero has it running too.Udderdude wrote:I got it working on my netbook running XP, didn't even have to fuck around with it.

Maybe it just don't like AGP graphics, or only likes a particular chipset or don't like GeForce.
Both our current machines have AGP nVidia graphics, and SST4 won't even run in Safe Mode on them.
Well I guess I'll have to play it to "Marquee Moon" then.ZOM wrote:^Just fired up NpII and installed SST337 to check it out. No sound.

He did well with that Warning Forever and Rayhound eh? but I'm not so sure about this one
