Never played this before...looks like Star Soldier with some extra stuff? Also, does this one require you to mash the fire button like mad, or is it more merciful on the fingers?

Unlike Star Soldier, with this you're nicely powered up from the start and have autofire. There's different ships with different weapons- only one weapon per ship but you can cycle through different firing patterns with the B button.

Not sure what differences there'll be with CS II yet though.

Just downloaded Caravan Star. It's pretty damned fun! I like being able to shoot backwards, and the ships are pretty varied. Looking forward to the 5 minute mode, unless there's secretly one in the first game and I haven't unlocked it.

Regarding the differences between CS original and CSII, the developer NSS says:
"Thank you for playing !

CS is like a Star Soldier.
CSII is like a Star Parodier !
Will be a change schedule to Comical later as for the Character&Graphic :p

But ver 0.26 is CS-Kai version(kai = Remodeling)

Changed at 2 minutes from 3 minutes. 5 minutes will be added later.
Scroll speed 50% up.
Enemy move speed up.
WIDE&PASER special operation is changed.
Shield on/off is Shield ring.
(The shield ring changes from red into blue at the MAX power. )
Power item changes into the Bonus item at the MAX power.
BGM changed.
etc... "

If you enter the Konami Code at the title screen then this accesses an additional Extra Mode with suicide bullets etc etc!

Played a few games, and I definitely think CS1 beats CS2 in both gameplay and graphical design. I love Star Parodier, but IMO this is a downgrade from the original Caravan Star.

I gave this game a shot with a hours worth playing it and find it entertaining. I find Fill to be my go-to ship. Faster to kill enemies and a faster ship overall, but like/rage against no back shot. Haven't reach gold medals yet for 2 or 5 minute mark, but beat both the preliminary and final contest qualifications. Definitely going to play the crap out of this game to find the best scoring methods! (OωQ)
