Switches? (HDMI and VGA)

Post by Thjodbjorn »

I very recently purchaced a 51' plasma that I can rotate. I don't want a bunch of cables in the way, so I'm going to need switches. Does anyone know what I need to look for in a good switch? I'm pretty sure the HDMI should be pretty easy, as digital is digital, right? But the VGA switch is something I am less familiar with...

For VGA, I personally like Startech's VGA switches, though bizarrely they have phased out their 4 port model and now only do an 8 port model:-

Fudoh likes these puppies, which include built in sync cleaning and various other stuff you may or may not need, they pop up on E-bay from time to time at a reasonable price:-

Monoprice has an HDMI switcher tha also passes through 3d, and has a digital audio out. The former is necessary, the latter would be nice. Guess I'll go with that.

Strange that Startech would d/c the 4-port switch...
