Suzo Inductive vs Suzo 500

Post by drunkninja24 »

I've been curious about putting together a custom stick for shmups utilizing a Suzo for quite some time. I'm just curious if it's worth tracking down a Suzo Inductive over just getting a standard Suzo 500. Is the throw similar on each? Any major differences in feel or anything? Any input is appreciated.

Inductives are occasionally on ebay. They are all sold out at the suzo warehouse. I honestly haven't tried mine out yet - I have to get a case made for it, as they are especially big (the guy that made me my suzo 500 case has disappeared off the internet).

I'm pretty sure the throw is even smaller on the inductive - I do enjoy my 500 though!

Here's a write-up on both sticks: http://olofson.net/arcade/suzoreview1.html

And here's an excellent site about lots of different sticks, but most pages are in polish and the owner also suffers from dyslexia: http://www.kowal.itcom.pl/ArcadeParts_pliki/apJOY.htm

I prefer the Inductive's overall feel and 8-way gate, but the need for a +5V line to run it + finding the ferrite core for a custom shaft makes the SUZO 500 the choice for me.

Do you really need a custom shaft if you can spare the depth and just mount it lower

If you think the original shaft looks good it's all good. Most people don't however.
