The roms are called ibara.zip and ibarabl.zip so it must be a mistake.

...No, it doesn't? And why do you care what particular emulator you'll play them in? You're very likely going to see them in Demul in 2011, 2012 at the latest.

Maybe I doubt these will be for a few years. Remember what Luca said that these games won't be actually playable in MAME, even if these are in non-working status, until 2015/16. He also pointed out it won't be for at least three years after Cave stops making money out of these games and the hardware they ran on. If Cave SH-3 games happens to pop up in Demul this year, I'm afraid that Cave would eventually hit the roof, realizing that someone is trying to emulate their newer games.

That doesn't really contradict what I'm saying. The SH3 titles won't be playable in MAME in the next several years, but eventually they will be like any other dumped arcade game. Demul devs have already made great progress emulating them as well, and if they decide to make it public, it's not like Cave will be able to stop them. They can send C&Ds and so on, but once it's public, it's public.

Looks like you don't remember shmuperplay. Cave had a strategy to release their DVDs international, so forced them to shut down their site. Demul won't risk the threat of being sued, just like shmuperplay.

Shmuperplay looks to have been straight up copyright infringement. That's not exactly a legal grey area.

Demul won't risk the threat of being sued, just like shmuperplay.

Different country, different laws, and unless the DEMUL project is distributing something CAVE has the rights to (i.e. ROMs, since that's the actual game) they might not have much of a case (if they have one to begin with).

When you say cave dvds is that the INH ones? I didnt know cave made dvds?
