Damn, I knew it would be BIG!

Sorry I couldn't make it Mr Garcia, ave, Plasmo, Sven, Emph & SinHo, Runefaust, bob, inzaneJockel et al. But I kinda believe in Fate - if I had been able to make it I would have missed being able to buy the house, so I will Approach Fast next time at 300kph.

MOAR PICS PLZ as the Scotsman would say.

Have fun in Canada ave!

A little late to the party, but I desperately needed some sleep and had to work today...
So thanks again to Robert garcia for hosting and organising this incredible meet and especially for being such a great person. Basically like everyone on the meet. Thanks everyone for the nice time!

My personal "highlight" story from the Hamburg night was shortly before we played Flunkyball. I suddenly needed to take a hasty shit, went into the bar where some of the guys hung out during the Flunkyball match and well... They had a toilet to sit down, but what they didn't have was a possibility to lock the door and a toilet seat. Plus the toilet flushing was just a screw that I had to push inside. It didn't work too well at first so that I momentarily thought about letting the shit up there, but eventually I made it work while almost impaling my hand. ;D
At least I was lucky that noone interrupted my business. If you ever have to take a shit in Hamburg, don't go there. Unfortunately I forgot the bar's name, was something with "Lager" and/or "Keller" in it.

Some other thoughts on the meet:
- Played with a stick for the first time over a longer period and it worked better than expected. Still much to improve though.
- Giga Waaang 2 was cool. Especially because none of us had played the japanese version before. We didn't have as much slowdown as I had expected because all 4 players shot around so there was little enemy fire and few volcanons, but the REFLECTO FOOOOOOOORCE every two seconds was awesome! Next time only players no missing a stage should be awarded with a drink though instead of the other way round. thyseus might no miss the whole game this way. I'd also bring a better drink then.
- Aero Fighters/Sonic Wings really is hilarious. Me and Plasmo had a lot of laughs getting our asses kicked from the cheepest attacks ever. We also had a small battle where he set a nice highscore after a few plays. I finally beat it just after he had fallen asleep (probably the only time during the weekend ;) ).
- Bee Storm: another bad game that is fun.
- Wherever I went, there were some things that were omnipresent: most importantly Ketsui's lock-shot beeps together with emphatic's cursing.
- I'm even more horrible at Battle Garegga than I thought. I've barely ever played it, but hell, two Game Overs in stage 1?
- Daifukkatsu is as shitty as I thought.
- I finally got to try out my most wanted shmup, Mushihimesama Futari. But somehow it didn't really click. Might just be because the stick on that cab had some issues.
- Instead Ketsui grew slowly on me. I had only tried it in Mame for a few credits, but now I started to like it a lot. Hard as hell though.
- I got totally crushed in Twinkle Star Sprites (first time to play it) and Windjammers, but had a lot of fun with it!
- Need a small break from shmups now, so many playtime on the meet that it was almost as exhausting as an STGT in the end.

Very much looking forward to next year, then hopefully with DEL, third_strike and Prometheus. And abschüssig who seemingly wanted to attend, too, but couldn't.

I have a few photos and videos, will upload them tomorrow.

What is wrong with that door? Jockel looks as a too high guy... I am 195 cm. tall, but still pass easy through standard doors.
