And maybe I can tell my Girlfriend its more a Videogame Collectible due to Sega Rally

But I have to Renew my Shop this Fall and have to save up Money for that :(

What would You do Sven, Cactus Canyon Pinball Machine or Delta Hf Integrale?
I'm very tempted for this Car, and it seems to be in very Good Condition.

But no TÜV/AU since 2003. Might require a lot of additional funds & work, but maybe not - have a look and take someone competent with you :)

Considering you already have a room full of flippers though - the car, the car! You just have to customize it a little to make it the perfect man toy

to be honest i dont know, the delta is a notoriously difficult car to own, fun as hell when it runs but you need to know your way around a car for it to be that way.
if you feel confortable changing gaskets and adjusting the valves every now and then i say go for the car, but if you rather leave it at a mechanics its the pinball (or a different car 8) )

if you get the car we DEFINETLY need to meet up at the nordschleife sometime SOON! :D

Have fun!

Apologies, I didn't make it. The Ball n'Chain stopped me in the end. A combo of our 5 year Wedding Anniversary yesterday, buying a house today (yes we walked in a house and walked out 20mins later having bought it  ) and her concerns over the bug, but I mean "What's a little kidney failure between friends? :D "

Looking forward to the pics - Meet and Reperbahn.

I could totally see why you wouldn't like to host another meet, so I'm really glad to hear that.
Some people get a bit careless sometimes when it's not about their own belongings... :/
Of course, I'd like to thank Folke again for the awesome time, it's no wonder people come from different countries only for the famous Garcia shmeets!
Had a blast, especially with Plasmo (+his buddy), AVE and Battletoad -- and obviously the Swedes!

The first time I came for the games, now it's just about the community. Love you guys. Except Emph. You suck.

Point taken.

I got home a about 1 hour ago and I still have that awesome feeling all over from another fantastic garcia meet, it's incredibly hard to beat it, but don't count us Swedes out just yet, planning will begin some time soon. 8) As we have no Reperbahn here, we'll have to do something else.

Also, congrats to Ave, the winner of the Do-Donpachi Dai-Fukkatsu 1.0 score competition, a great way to finish your last European shmup meet!

Thoughts:

Robert Garcia - Host of the century! He's probably the nicest and most generous person I've ever met. We really need to have some small skate session next time for a change.

Farewell to AVE! My old archenemy since the good old Ikaruga days. May an awesome future be with you in Canada!

Jockel - I'll miss you very much next time I drink Sambucca alone in room staring at a wall. Thanks for Batsugun Special! Nice giveaway! We seriously need to do more private meets aka "zocken, saufen, ficken". Ficken ja!

Special Thanks to Emph for playing Hacha Mecha Fighter all night long, giving me the creepiest nightmare I've ever had (it was something about warhogs ejaculating chestnuts whilst flying over a jungle in a helicopter IIRC). During the whole meet I had approx. 1 hour of real sleep and had these kind of dreams - depressing to the max. Yes, I am that hardcore!

Reeperbahn was a blast. I feel so robbed out, but it was awesome. Great Flunkyball match! Poor homeless dude who had to drink the pee though, I almost felt sorry.

Aero Fighters is retarded.

Thanks to RUNEFAST for bringing the awesome, but not so awesome tank game (desert war?).

Special note: Is it just me or does Sven wear the most badass shirts of all time? Keep it up!

For me this was the best Shmeet up to now! I'm very much looking forward to next year already!

DEL: You've been missed! Hope you can make it next year again. Same goes for third_strike and Prom of course!

And yeah: For me the meet is becoming more and more a social event. It was 20% gaming 70% socialising and 10% playing masochistic games (Emph's fault again! NMK is such a great developer <3)

Yup yup ! That's what I think as well.
I was telling Icarus in London that the way I see it, we're like a big family spread across the world and you can meet members of that family when you travel around. He said "it's good to get everyone together once in a while". :]

If nothing gets in the way, I'll definitely come to the next Robert Garcia meet. Hope you guys had fun and see you next time !

Sorry to hear about your nightmare, but I'm not sure you're fully aware that you were playing Hacha Mecha Figher while half asleep as well? Such a lovely, evil game, playing it all night really made me aware of some cool scoring stuff and maybe also rank control!

Agree. Even with the "blip, blip" of Ketsui's LOCK SHOT always present in the background or RuneFaust stalking you with a Katana made from Japanese plastic and CAVE's employee of the month's testicle sweat, these meets are a gateway drug for über-dorks of all ages, races and creeds to actually socialize with real friggin' people. And as an unexpected bonus, girls!

The car-ride to Hamburg with the Beastie Boys etc. was superb and just the tip of the iceberg of zany craziness about to hit full on with the binge-drinking, pimp strutting et al.

Hope to meet ya'll soon again (you too, Max Rank).

Oh man, you make it really hard for me to leave! Those meets of yours that I have attended count as some of the best weekends of my life. Party, games, socializing with people who know their stuff - it's been a great experience as always, since 2009 when I first went to Stade, arcade gaming capital of the world.

You really ARE the shmup meet host of the century, no doubt. I'm not even sure which one was the best because all of them were outstanding - may it be last year's Fast Striker event or 2009's very alcoholic party with the poker guy showig off his card tricks - I remember every second and it's always been a pleasure to have been there. Thank you once again for the amazing time! And the many great breakfasts you've prepared for us

@PLASMO
Arch-enemy, it's an honor to be the one of yours. But don't relax yet, I'm still around to kick your ass :P The internet is a wide world with lots of ways to interact.... all your base is belong to me make your time!!!

Some random thoughts:

* Flunkyball can literally piss you off (we laughed our bloody arses off, as the British may say)
* 1cc'in Flunkyball can take you up to 1 hour while the real gameplay lasts only 10min. Preparation is everything. I almost lost my patience
* And Plasmo lost his inappropriate sunglasses to some crazy guy with a club. Crazy, scary reality. The PLASMO-experience.

* sven666 is teh party guy... about 43hrs awake, didn't matter to him at all @"hörsaal".
* sven666 doesn't snore. Awesome, since I slept on the same couch as he did.
* sven666 is also teh big donator :O I'm really glad about winning that CAVE merch you turned into a prize for the DFK 1.0 competition. The bag with all those incredibly pointless but awesome goodies will always remind me of the greatest shmup meet of all time!!!

* It's absolutely amazing how much better Dodonpachi Daifukkatsu 1.0 is compared to 1.5.

* Folke is the best host of all time, also having some hot female friends who led us to some great clubs on the Reeperbahn... ;)
* Ketsui ran without a pause (!!) from Friday - Sunday.
* There can only be ONE master of rushing.................... the RUSHMASTER.
* Same goes for Garou & Windjammers. Garou I really don't know how to play properly, but Windjammers I thought I did while losing anyway. Kudos to Folke/r.g., who beat me twice in two fair battles.

@Folke
What we forget.... ;-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKjBtFw_s3k

THE GREATEST SHMUP / SOCIALIZE MEET OF ALL TIME!!!!
75% socialization, 25% highscore gaming. 100% geekdom & amazing fun

Prometheus, DEL and third_strike, we really missed you. We had Bee Storm running in the Sunday morning. It really felt like Dodonpachi, but in "bad Chinese ripoff"-mode. You should've played it...

@DEL: I was actually planning to bring some oldschool Toaplan-PCB's, but they'd already been shipped anyway, so no chance. I would have loved to see you perform in those games. But... here in Germany, we use to say "Man sieht sich immer zweimal im Leben" or "you always meet twice in life". July 2010 wasn't the last time :-)

This was awesome and Robert garcia is really setting the bar for upcoming meets. I hope we can step up to the plate and return the favor sometime in the future. Really good meet!

Besides the obvious highlights, I’m just happy that I finally got the time to actually play some shmup and for improving my DKF BL/Power HS (well the score is not that good, but I’m not finished with the game just yet). Next time I will take the senior citizens tour around Reeperbahn or I just need to sleep and drink more….

I also realize that I’m too old to stay up and party after 1.00, but then again sven666 knows how to push the envelop on the dance floor (and on the couch the day after).

I will upload some pictures from the meet and Reeperbahn later,

That is the purpose. it's all about international family ambience :P . i was pretty sure you had big time. (considering sympathy nuts pictures from last meet).

:? i expected from months this DuranDuran concert in Paris friday, was there waiting, and they announced it was cancelled :x , so much wasting time, tired to go to another french meet friday night, but on return still trying seeing paris-hamburg last minute but it was ~250€ flight price.

we'll try consolate us with your pics and words. sure they will bring enthusiasm about other meets coming

Of course I was just joking, Hach Mecha Fighter actually appealed to me very much, great game. Vote for STGT +1.
What scoring tricks did you find out? Sounds awesome that the game even has depth.

Good Morning everyone? Left my Home yesterday at 6 o'clock to my Girlfriends Palce, all clean and a fresh Bed! Sleept for over 12 Hours in One go but felt more tired than the last 2 Mornings with only max 4 Hours Sleep per Night!

AVE, Bob and Runefaust where the last to leave and we where standing like an Hour in Front of the House Talking about the Meet, Games, past, present & future. We Said Good Bye like Three times
And might Be Standing there still like Next Years Meet. After they left and i came back Inside my Apartment it felt so strange, so quiet.

I Feel very glad and hounred that again everyone had such a gerat time.

@ plasmo: Those flowers you get that start at 1000 and goes up to a maximum of 10000 seems to set the rank. If you die with 10K you get 5K the next time but the bullets are less fast. Weapons doesn't seem to raise rank as much. Also, some Bosses can be milked.

@ jockel: See how happy I am playing Hacha Mecha Fighter in that first picture? The second is of course Ketsui, with that "abandon all hope" face. :)
