Tonk... I never singled ANYONE out as being jealous. Let's just not derail the thread with price debates or price justification.

Not this early in the games release anyway. Let's try to show and obtain as much info about the game itself rather than it's price.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Oh sweet because I'm dying to give Miniature Shakur a $700 profit for posting lies and poor grammar. I could buy it much cheaper if I had the money.

Apparantly you're an oil tycoon or something, or maybe just being an ass, but you can't be serious with that link. $3000?? Fuck that guy for buying the kit just to turn around and try to sell for a profit. It always pisses me off when I see that sort of thing.

I don't know how much of a language barrier there is between us, but to be clear I was saying "fuck you" to the person listing the kit on eBay. Not you.

Genevois, what about those tapping counterbumping action in maniac mode. Do you try it out? Maybe on the scorpion in level two.
Slow tapping A.- Wonder if this function is in this new version, too.

Genevois, is there an option in the operator menu to reset the HS table? This was left out of original Mushi (and revisions). I'm just curious if they "added this feature" to the Matsuri version. Also I assume Ultra was unlocked from the get go?

so as said before, thanks to SGN we could test the game tonight in Paris during a session. there's some video there about ambience and first comments around the game. it's mix of art and paint visually. Ultra mode gave me some quick thrills :). but Original mode is even not easy. few bullets but they are very "heatseeking" to you...

ambience video coming soon...

ok, i had a few hours last night to test the game properly so i thought id make a writeup, also made vids of full playthrus on "regular" and MAX rank to show the differences.

first off there are two modes with 3 difficulties each.

in "original" mode its basically the scoring system from the Mushi 1.0 original with the added bonus that you can draw gems from enemies by being close to them ala futari BL, there is no autofire or switching buttons mechanic, no counters or anything, scores are pretty low, no autobomb and each life gives you 3 bombs.

in "MAX" mode you pretty much have the same system as Futari BL original altogether, you draw gems from enemies either by being in proximity or cancelling bullets off some larger enemies, however there is also a button changing mechanic in effect, i didnt have time do disect it completely but it seems your counter keeps going up the longer you hold A, if you hold A+C or just C your counter doesnt rocket quite as much and may even stop on occation.
your counter is halved between stages and depreciates during boss battles.
your options do not draw gems from enemies only the main shot so you have to have the player sprite in the enemies face or it wont work.
as the counter rises so does the rank, at 10000 you start drawing big gems only and you notice a couloured trail coming off enemy bullets, basically as your counter goes up so does your scoring potential and the difficulty, just like Futari BL.
extends are kept at "original" levels so youll hit both before the 2nd stage is up and easily both in the 1st stage on maniac and ultra difficulties simply by surviving.
MAX mode has only one bomb per life and autobombs (autobomb clears your entire stock if you have more than 1).

maniac and ultra are just difficulties in this version, the gameplay changes when you choose "regular" or "MAX" rank.
the only difference between them is original has a gold counter while maniac and ultra have a hit counter, they still work the same way.

there are loads of extra enemies but overall the patterns are pretty much the same as mushi 1.0, a few minor tweaks here and there but nothing big.

the game is pretty buggy, there is no writing on the highscore table at all (maybe if you clear it, i never manged to get past the last boss :( will try to get some play in tonight), sucking in gems by pressing A works sometimes and sometimes not and sometimes only half of the gems.

the PCB i ordered was damaged from factory so i sent it in for repair (only just got it last night) and the PCB i recieved back is not the same as i sent in, it does have a Mushi1.5 serial number tho so its not just an overwritten board, either CAVE have a few unsold units or they have more in stock for another sale.

here are the vids, Original regular mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWTL2yCerdc (sorry, just noticed this vid cuts off after the 3rd boss, seems the file is corrupted somehow, i will have to re-upload later)

original MAX mode: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5cnkPtQHd8

I will try to make a 1-all run and maybe an ultra MAX vid tonight, sadly this board is not mine and i think the rightful owner is aching to get his hands on it so might not have time.

Really nice review and vids sven666!

I don't have a lot of experience of mushi 1.0, but if it's similar to Futari BL ... :D

.
LOL, would just love to send back the PCB to Cave for a bug fix/upgrade ... :x
Can someone else confirm the bugs?

Sven, don't know how many people will end up buying the PCB but thanks for the letting us know your experience with it and for explaining the mechanics. As for the bugs, it wouldn't be a CAVE game without them

its your average generic CAVE pap.

i didnt like the soundtrack of mushi 1.0 either exept the 4th stage and in thisone its more of the same exept they generified the 4th stage too.

Id like to do a writeup of my akai katana limited aswell but its a much harder game to get into (plus i dont have a hori cab anymore :P).. maybe sometime in the future.

It's Mushi redone by Ryu Umemoto. Wouldn't mind being able to check it against the original, like with Galuda II, but I like where it was going.

Yes, proper score safeing when continue is set to on.

-On normal maniac you can realy skyrocket your counter to 400.000 or so using only one of the formation lazers hiting the scorpions head while tapping the A button.
Also on level 3 to the head of the motherbug.

Original mode is adrenalin, cause you just want to bump the counter to over 60.000. I am not managed it jet. 8)

Ultra has the nicest patterns, imo. On level 5, thoose bagplants spray bulletpatterns that are zooming out from small to big.
-Realy impressive.

Sven, thanks for the videos!
