Oh this guy. This was actually the streamer I was talking about a few posts back, but he was streaming through peercast, which is only viewable with the client. I wonder why he's using nicolive instead peercast?

Anyway, this particular streamer has a lot of arcade material, which makes me think he's an arcade owner or is close friends with someone who works at an arcade store. A few years ago, I saw him streaming Darius Gaiden in TATE with a neo-geo controller.

Point is in enjoying horizontal shmups in a vertical perspective with matching controls.

I've seen the exact same thing done for Progear as well.

Great, where do you bought it?

And, is it much more difficult than the original?

I have no idea how anyone could be happy spending that kind of money on a rehash.

Actually any game, IMO.

Well I mean if you're a millionaire or something you have a different perspective.

Being a general member of society though I think it's bat shit crazy since after taxes it would cost damn near $2500+ around here.

I agree, but I'd rather not enforce my personal opinion upon others unlike some, so in this case each to their own.

If you have the money and want to spend shitloads of such on such a piece its your damn choice.

I'd probably spend $2000 on some kind of Raiden II shrine or ESPRade if I got the cabinet + PCB, kit and posters etc cause I like those games and the art and all (wouldn't know where to make room for it in my house though) but not on the game itself.

Jealousy will get you every where!!!
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Don't listen to the jealousy..... it's your hard earned cash to do whatever you want with. I wish I could buy it but at least I can get info on the game through those who can.

Let's not derail the thread with a pissing contest, BS, along with consoling and convincing ourselves we don't care about a possibly great game. If it gets ported everyone's interest will do a 180 anyway....

Let's keep the thread about the game and not some lame price debate. Lord forbid that on a forum about shooters... we might actually welcome and get excited at someone on here having the game and we might actually speak nicely to the person so we can get some info or videos on it 1st hand.

No drama or hate would be expecting more than the internet is capable of probably.

A WINNING post by Strider77. I like this idea. :D

To get back on topic, for those who have actually tried the Matsuri version, do you prefer this or the original?

Hm, interesting vids. At first glance I'm sort of reminded of PS2 arrange mode on Mushi.

Would it be fair to say the game throws more bullets, but is easier than it was originally? Or is that a mis-conception.

Based on videos that I've seen, the MAX modes are very close to Futari 1.01 in terms of bullet speed and density. A reverence for Psikyo? :D And you get only one bomb per life, so it's indeed not in any way easier than said 1.01.

Oh yeah, I had questions regarding the autobomb. Does it always work and take one bomb per hit? I think I've seen some moments where a player would die when his bomb stock wasn't empty.

in mode 2
begins with a bomb
but we can recover in the game
Each bomb is a autobombe

it's very fun to play

often in the normal mode, it died with 3 bombs ... it's a shame.

Is the scoring system different from the original?

Based on what I've seen, considerably different. For one, all modes now have the gem bleeding From Futari BL Original, so W-shot is likely not the one to go with anymore. There are more gems and bullet canceling in general, so Original score goes up much higher (especially in MAX mode where every bomb and power-up item is worth a whole million), expect scores in the hundreds of million from experts. There's the ground gem suction mechanic from Futari as well, which is very cool.

Maniac and Ultra still have the large/small counter business, and it appears they're easier to increase (player BRT from the 1.9 GB stream got it up in the hundreds of thousands easily without a particular rapidfire rhythm), but I have no idea if that's the limit of its scoring potential. So far we can say that Original mode is already an improvement.
