SoCal ArcadeMeet at Droids: Saturday May 28th 2011

Hi Guys,

My work schedule has finally died down abit allowing me to make some headway on my various arcade projects. Although I still have plenty left to do, I'd like to extend an open invitation to anyone interested to hangout and play some games at another SoCal shindig...without question it will be a blast! Hoping to see the usual suspects as well as new faces. All are welcome

Date: Saturday May 28th 2011
Start time: 3pm
End: 10pm-ish
Location: Garden Grove just off the 22 fwy @ Brookhurst Blvd. 30 minutes from riverside...45 minutes from LA...1.5 hours from SD....6 hours from NoCal and 4 hours from Vegas.

Dedicated games on tap will be: T2, Burgertime, Missile Command, Rampart, Tempest, Crystal Castles, Punchout, Marble Madness, Zeke's Peak, Asteroids Deluxe, Crazy Climber, Fonz, Qbert, Sinistar, Millipede, Warlords 4P, Assault, Battlezone, SmashTV+Total Carnage+Robotron + 3 candys we can throw a bunch of classic pcbs in. Expect to see alot of Juno First, Timepilot & Timepilot 84 and mebbe some volfied and tetris + others. I've ironed out all the Zeke's Peak issues so that should definitely rock. Also I am hopeful to have Afterburner Deluxe fully operational again.

Some incoming games I hope will arrive in time for the party: Pole Position 2, Black Widow, Berzerk, Wizard of Wor and Frontline. I'm still waiting for restorations to be completed on Spyhunter, Star wars and zookeeper...We'll have to play these 3 at a future meet.

Heheh no worries Dave, but you know you are now obligated to make an annual pilgrimage down to SoCal now that you've made the trip once I've gotta keep pestering my wife to let me hit one of your NoCal meets! Btw do you still have Spyhunter? I'm in the midst of restoring mine. Its been quite the learning experience heh.

There are 4 more games in the lineup not pictured + I still have 7 games incoming though, only 3 will arrive in time for the meet. + 3 candy cabs and over 100+ pcbs!

A few requests for all attendees:

1. Please remove all rings/watches before playing games and wash hands, especially after eating food. I've spent alot of time, energy and moola restoring these bad boys and some of the parts and artwork is literally irreplaceable if damaged.
2. As mentioned previously, good personal hygiene is a must. We had a friend of a guest show up ripe and funky last time I hosted, and we all suffered through it. This time it will not be tolerated and blatant offenders will be asked to leave. So giving a heads up.
3. Keep the rowdiness to a minimum, especially as we hit the later hours. Where we live is quiet and we want to be good neighbors.

That's it as far as guildelines go. I hope everyone will be able to make it and enjoys the games I have to offer!
