My high is like 5.6M. That was a fluke run though tbh, I got the super diamond almost every stage and didn't die, and thus didn't loose my bonus multipliers, until the 3rd world boss, and promptly shit the bed!

If you are playing in mame go in and make sure it is set to default settings.

Ha ha ha no ... I thought there were only the 3 stages! Yesterday I cleared the 1st stage and stage 4 popped up ... then during the scoring summary I see a stage 5??!

I have found a lot more bonus items though, and a whole new attack I never knew about! (down,up+attack while jumping).

It has a real console feel to it -- no timers, lots of hidden items and exploring, stage selection.

I don't think I have the audio working 100% yet though. I was getting sound, but it seemed very 'hollow' - there wasn't any low-end to it. I think I need to try going directly from the stereo connector on the ZN-2 instead of through the supergun. I probably have something like those 4-pin JST connectors I can use lying around ...

I believe there is a volume pot on the PCB; make sure that isn't turned down first.

hardest boss ever ... I even had 3 lives going in, got hit once but picked up the meat when I killed the first one, and STILL couldn't beat the 2nd one.

There has to be a strategy of some kind ... no boss should be this difficult. I might have to resort to save states

And I didn't even use save states! Score was not great, I missed some all clears and I got hit twice at stage 3 boss so I lost my multiplier, but still my best yet!

I haven't been playing much lately, but Brendz and I have been trying to beat that boss forever!

I watched a play-through using invincibility cheats one time, the 5th stage boss looks unbeatable; it can teleport, and it does it every time one of your fire balls is about to hit it!

Oh, and while I'm at it....meet this saturday ladies!

I don't have any tricks really ... having all 3 buffs makes a huge difference obviously, so that means playing clean through all the levels before, since getting hit will reset everything. I basically stay on the ground level, close to the middle, and just dodge when one of them flies at me.

I have yet to figure out if there's any pattern to power ups, e.g. if a certain mob will always give a Fire Up or Range Up or whatever. I've got the scoring pretty well nailed, and can all-clear a lot of the stages, which is great for scoring - I can pretty consistently get over 4M by stage 3 boss.

I have tried milking the first boss, but I haven't found it that useful for scoring. You can sometimes get power ups if you don't have all 3 yet, that's about the only reason to do it. Otherwise, the loot from killing him is more valuable, especially if you can pick up the sacks (which increase the multiplier to x8 max).

I should see if there's an ST somewhere, there might be some things I'm missing.

The neo cab is fine, just the hold gets jumpy on the odd occasion. Its fine 99% of the time.
