I'm definitely going to be there Thursday. I can't do Wednesday though. Boring meeting.

Here's the SFII Rainbow vid from last Saturday. It's totally screwy, but lots of fun. I'm in red, Chi in black.

I approve, count me in if it happens. Also, I must try the "Rainbow" version of SFII now, the video is hilarious!

I can't make it on Wednesday, but Thursday is fine.

And HZT, well done on your new Futari score - I'll have to work hard to get back on the scoreboard!

That Progear screen doesn't like the attract mode or the final boss much at all, also its hard to see the left edge of the screen.. they should really change the screen or the game in there.

Ha ha, it's totally wacky isn't it? Weirdest game of SFII I've every played - I didn't even think about disappearing off the top of the screen, Chi told me about it as he used to play it. Apparently you can do the same thing with Zangief's lariat and then body slam your way back down the screen. :|

Yep - I'm definately on for Thursday!

I've only had one evening with my Mushi PCB so far, but it's so much nicer than the PS2 port. Happy for it to go in whenever we want, whether it means very soon or in a few months. It will be really fun to play that when everyone else is.

I'd love to see Mushi in a cab, plus with us all playing it we may discover the true nature of Manic scoring... IF ONLY we could get the engineer to tate one of the monitors - it's in their interest after all as I'm sure it would take more money than Red Earth.

I'd really like to see Mushi at Casino, haven't got much experience with it. :) Won't be able to come down for a couple of weeks, but should hopefully be able to be there (somewhat) regularly from mid-June onwards.

I haven't got the board with me today, but I'll bring it with me the next few times, and if The Engineer is in the right mood, perhaps we'll get it in there.

I'll see you all at Casino in a couple of hours or so!

Loads of fun at Casino tonight with CHI, Dan76 and JDE, along with Jon and Craig's gang. A good fun atmosphere. I had a very exciting, slightly silly DDP credit. Got to the final (1st loop) boss. Boy, do I love that game!? The 'public arcade' 1CC will be mine! And then I join the Futari Maniac Beer challenge. I don't drink, but if I win I will!

Almost the same as the list in the OP, except with DDP instead of Raiden DX. Hopefully we'll have the original Mushi soon as well!
And what's happening about the weekly Casino meet this week? Tuesday or Wednesday is good for me.

Wednesday's good for me. I've got a really exciting meeting with my landlady Tuesday night.

I'm really keen to get back at DDP after last week!

Wednesday is good - can't make Tuesday this week.

I've had a few goes on PS2 Mushi (what with the "new" pcb and possible Casino install) - Original is so damn fast by stage 4, harder than Futari..? Or maybe diminishing skills...

I could bring it on Wednesday maybe - though I guess until we know where it's going, there's perhaps no point.

I think the PS2 port has very little slowdown, especially on Original. Yeah, I find it loads harder than Futari Original, but I've only ever really played Maniac on the PCB.

Remember when Mushi was in the stand up cab where DOJ is now? Must have been about 4 years since I first visited and played it now... #nostalgia

Allow me to cast my selfish vote too for having Mushi in the arcade at some point... like so many others my only experience was with the PS2 port and I'd be curious to play the PCB a bit, especially Original due to those slowdown issues... But that's just selfishness :)

(I will probably be in London around mid June onwards for workholidays, so I should be able to join you guys if I can remember how to play STGs in the meantime :|)

Hi everyone!

I plan to be there for the first time on saturday, and I'd like to come prepared, which shmups are currently playable?

Thank you :)

EDIT : just noticed that someone asked the same question 3 pages before, I suppose not much have changed since then :)

That's right. We've currently got Futari 1.5, DDP, DDP DOJ, Progear, Raiden Fighters Jet and Strikers 1945 Plus.

See most of you down there tonight?

Word. At some point we need to sort out this 'Casino: The Living Room Edition' meet, where we all meet round one of our houses one weekend (afternoon and evening I reckon).

I've got the space, plenty of shmups, sticks, and a tate'd TV for us tuck into, so I'm happy to be the first host.

I'm off to E3 in a week, so maybe we could wait 'till after that and go for a weekend in late June.

What are your thoughts on that?

I live in Hackney, near Victoria Park, pretty close to the Central Line.

EDIT: Oh - and I spoke to The Engineer. He's cool with Mushihimesama going in next week. We'll pop it in the DDP cab, move DDP to the DOJ cab, and I'll take my DOJ home. Any objections?

This sounds awesome! An evening of gaming and the chance to see if your house is as overflowing with game paraphernalia and cardboard boxes as I imagine...

I'd love to host sometime as well, I think my place would be really great for it (studio with loads of space), but unfortunately the lack of any CRTs there is probably a deal breaker.

Mushi plan sounds good. I hate that stick for DDP but I reckon it'll be OK for Mushi, and now I'll be able to play DDP happily as well.

I'm glad you're OK with the plan hzt. I know you were still playing DOJ a bit, so if you wanted us to concoct another plan we could (or if you treat yourself to a cab you can borrow my PCB!).

Okay gents, a thread for my Brighton meet is now open. I promise to be a good host and look after all of you and throw more shmups at you than you can handle. :o

The only question is: When!

So here's the thread, please take a look at dates and let me know which weekend you'd like to have a seaside gaming vacation:
