Hellsinker - Porn in an .exe file

Touhou UFO - the cd can be used as a plate or a frisbee, plus if you break it it should be sharp enough to use for self defense or hunting for food

Radiant Silvergun- BEST...SHMUP....EVER

Thunderforce II- Because it's the very first shmup I ever played and the one that got me started. It was also the very first game I ever bought. That and it's too hard to beat within a week.

Guwange- Cave's finest next to Ketsui IMO.

And the non-shmup: Well damn....I'm torn between the C64's SAMURAI WARRIOR: The battles of Usagi Yojimbo and Osman. Both are fantastic games that I could play over and over again for weeks on end.
Use Shumpman's advice!

Desert Island Disks is still running, by the way. It's been on Radio 4 (a national UK BBC radio station) regularly since the forties. The BBC has all 2851 episodes available to listed to online here. I listen quite often. The Ricky Gervais one recently was brilliant. You can search all kinds of ways there too. Do listen to some - it's a great programme.

As for my Desert Island Shmups?

Progear - So much score potential beyond the 1CC. So much to learn. A little fan to keep me cool on the island.
DOJ - It would take me a life time to 1CC it!
Raiden IV - Chasing the Double Play 1CC would keep me entertained for years!

and if you ever get suicidal tendencies, you could start playing it for score if no sharks are around

What? R-Type does indeed have a second loop.
Does it? is the difficulty higher on the 2nd loop?

Yup, suicide bullets are great fun when your hitbox is so large.
