The vx is all-sanwa parts, and has a different button layout. I have both, and they're both pretty great. I prefer the case on the vx, but the sticks and buttons are very easily swappable.

I've been meaning to upgrade my sticks/buttons on my cab for a long time.. and that time has come.

I was only going to order one stick at first to see if I like it (Seimitsu LS-32), but what buttons do I go with? Get Sanwa buttons and a matching Sanwa top for my LS-32?

Not quite... the EX-SE has all Seimitsu parts, while the VX-SA (the model I see on Amazon right now) has all Sanwa parts. There's Sanwa vs Seimitsu threads all over the internet, but if you're new to arcade sticks in general it probably won't make much of a difference to you.

If you like the buttons, sure, there's nothing wrong with sticking with it. I use Seimitsu buttons myself - they're harder to press accidentally and have much more solid feedback than Sanwa buttons.

I say go with a set of SANWA and a set of Seimitsu buttons. The bulk of your payment will go towards shipping no doubt, better buy 'n try.
