image is a bit dark when using supergun on crt

Post by toapfan »

Hi all,
I just got a crt tv to use with my supergun.
The problem is that on this tv, tate'd or not, the image shows up darker than usual.
I'm using a Super Contra pcb which works fine on my lcd tv.
the tone on the title screen, for example should be a bright gray, but it's much more near black on this tv.
:?
Thanks,
(by the way, i've used my dreamcast on it and the games run fine).

welcome to shmups forums, sweet screen name!

can you give us some more information about your supergun?
are you connecting the same way on both TV's?

ahah, thanks.
The supergun that I'm using is a Vogatek MK.III, and yes, I'm connecting it the same way on both.
but anyways, I tried playing around with the settings on my tv, adjusting the brightness and all that; seems to be running fine now.
I'll definitely keep you informed if I notice something else.
One more thing,
Arcade PCBs don't strictly adhere to the PAL or NTSC format, right? Does that mean that every pcb will show up fine in a non- multistandard PAL TV?
