News flash - Mushihimesama in MAME (not working yet)

Post by Ixmucane2 »

From the deja vu department: Mushihimesama, Mushihimesama Futari 1.5, Mushihimetama have appeared in MAME 0.142u3 without being listed in the whatsnew file with the other added games.
Unlike the first round of CAVE gems, they are marked as "non working" and they really don't work.

These news are too close for my comfort!!!!!

Seems my prediction at the PCSX2 thread might end up coming true...

What's next? DeathSmiles ninja'ing into Mame? DeathSmiles 2 leaked as a PC port like it happened with Otomedius?

Don't get too excited, it's not going anywhere until Arbee finishes the dynarec SH-4 core and changes to accomodate the SH-3 as used by Cave.

This should signal a demul release shortly, though.

Also, the ROM set in the wild contains the sound ROM for a change! Before I was working with two samples, this might be a little bit more helpful. No need for me to rape this PCB for sound then, lol (though it'll be helpful to confirm the applicability of the technique nonetheless).

From what I've siphoned from CaH4e3 he's nowhere close to having sound working than he was when releasing the first video. As well as with everything Demul related, focus jumps all over the place.

Oh shit, what about the Black Label ver. of Futari? It seems like my JP Xbox is getting more worthless with each passing day. :/

The idea is any SH3 game will be emulated once each configuration is analysed. Don't think of your JP360 as useless. At the 0 frame setting (really 2 frames by the time you go through the pipeline) you'd be hard pressed to beat the latency of the system at the moment. Obviously nothing beats the PCB just yet, but yeah.

Really? Conflicts the reports I've received, but fair enough. I'm glad demul is closed source I kind of want to figure out the AMM puzzle myself. Never broke a compressed codecs before, don't know if I can.

Yeah- I noticed the post number too but we're in the clear blue water of 667 now!
And yeah there's gonna be a whole lot of moralising going on when (that's when not if)
Futari, DFK,Pink Sweets et al are emulated.
Can't wait for the working roms and the endless fuckin' debate to go with them :D

It probably will eventually, blazblue continuum shift was and it ran on taito typex2, no idea what ds2 runs on though.

:( all these games coming out for mame is giving me to motivation to get a 360 and the ports.

They should rename themselves to the "Cave Project Team" because they're always working on Cave stuff and never Raiden II.

Kidding aside this will be interesting to see. Am I to understand that this development is entirely separate from Demul?

Yeah those extra modes thats on the console ports really makes them worth buying. It would be even better if Cave made the preorder DLC available to those who missed the boat especially for MMP & Pinksweets which doesnt have all the extra modes like in the other titles

I really hope in 5 years time and all the 360 games are emulated that all the DLC is included too

It will probably be more then 5 years for working 360 emulation. Theirs not even an xbox emulator yet.

Not meaning to derail your point, rather supporting it, but there's actually there's two Xbox emulators that I can find. One's by Microsoft and only runs Halo 1 (as already mentioned, and even that's based on Wikipedia info ) and the other's WIP and only has Private Betas lying around from 2009 with the most recent piece of info I could find was dated to January this year.

There is hope, but not enough interest by developers to actually work on said consoles emulation-wise. There lies the real problem.

Disregarding the poor grammar, that statement is completely irrelevant. There are emulators of the other systems from that generation (and even one for the current generation: Dolphin emulates Wii).
The reason for no xbox 1 emulator is because it's, well, not interesting. Everything on it is also on PC, and the system is basically a PC in a special box. There's no reason to emulate it, because the hardware is not interesting at all.
On the other side, the xbox 360 has very interesting hardware, so you can bet it will eventually be attempted to be emulated.

Can a company exist when 99% of its creations are available free?

Now people are seeing a trend that nothing is sacred.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.
